Boot loop on Cubox-i4Pro with Vanilla Ubuntu Xenial Server 4.6.2

Hello everyone!

 

I just installed Armbian for my Cubox and I'm experiencing a boot loop caused by the watchdog directly after logging in as root and when prompted to create a new account.

 

Attached you find the serial console output.

 

Does anyone have any idea what could cause this behaviour?

You need to create a username, otherwise you can't proceed.

The thing is, I can't create a username because about half a second after the line 

Creating new account. Please provide a username (eg. your forename): adduser: Only one or two names allowed.

appears, the watchdog jumps in and restarts the system, as you can see here:

watchdog: watchdog0: watchdog did not stop!
imx2-wdt 20bc000.wdog: Device shutdown: Expect reboot!
reboot: Restarting system

Try with clean image or Jessie build to see if you run into same problem. I can try this in few days.

sorry for the late reply. I have tried clean images of Ubuntu and Jessie. Both have the same problem. I've also used different SD cards and different card readers to eliminate any problems during the data transfer. It's always the same.

 

I've also tried the 5.00 image of Armbian (Armbian_5.00_Cubox-i_Ubuntu_trusty_4.4.1) and everything works fine with this image.

 

Any help is very much appreciated!

I've just tried the new image Armbian_5.20_Cubox-i_Ubuntu_xenial_4.7.3. There's the same boot loop as with 5.14.

 

Could you please have a look into this.
