R40 vs H3 vs A53 -> torrent, streaming, kodi

Hello,

after I've read the NAS topic ( http://linux-sunxi.org/Sunxi_devices_as_NAS) and the importance of  random I/O performance in the SD card made by tkaiser.

I'm here to ask what board can you advise for:

  • During day-time: stream box w/ kodi (resolution 1080) if possible without laggy use
  • During night: running daemon of torrent e.g Trasmission (or NAS server)

Never happen that both activities are made in same time.

I think that for night-time use it would be recommend use a internal hard disk attached to a SATA port. I don't need high performance of trasmitting data because internet speed here is only ADSL 12Mbps download and 0.8Mbps Upload.

The only thing is not to create bottleneck of download speed of torrent (usually max 3MB/s) cause of cheap USB-to-SATA adapters of the board.

The budget is MAX 75$ shipped

After 1 month of studies I've choosen some boards that maybe meet the standards:

  • Banana Pi M2 Ultra: 52$ - R40 Chipset "SATA Capable", 8GB eMMC
  • Orange Pi Plus 2E: 39$ - H3 Chipset "NO SATA", 16GB eMMC
  • Orange Pi Plus 2: 53$ - H3 Chipset "USB 2.0 to SATA", 16GB eMMC
  • Odroid C2: 50+ship$ - A53 Chipset (Amlogic S905), "NO SATA" but theoretically more processing power of the preceding

Can someone of you clarify if these boards accomplish the standard requirements? Is enought cpu & gpu to see a film in 1080 or enought throughput using a usb-to-sata adapter with my speed necessity?

Any suggestion is liked also if need to add another board not in the list.

Thanks
