Hi,
I just acquired a couple of OrangePi zero's with the H2+ SoC and 512MB Ram.
I tried to install the latest images for both Debian and Ubuntu burning then to microUSB with the regular dd command.
The flash USB was a 32GB ebay cheap microUSB generic unbranded.
I could not succeed at all in installing any distro, I even tried all the distros on the orangePi website.
My strategy is to run the OPi headless, only connected to the ethernet cable, so no display at all.
The symptons were always the same once powered (with a 1.2Amp phone charger) the OPi would start the blinking ethernet leds, on my router there was a new IP on the Lan but the green Led would never show up and I could not ever access the OPi with ssh, it simply timed out although it did reply to pings!
After much research online I decided to change the microUSB flash for a brand new 16GB one.
And voila, this time any Armbian image would boot and give me also ssh access to the OPi.
Another thing I've noticed if someone can instruct me on this is that the H2+ is a variant of the H3 and it is a basically a quad core ARM device.
Once I make:
It shows 8 CPU's ?!
from 0 to 7 ...
What is the reason for this ?
Regards.
