  1. I don't recall this kind of troubles on any version of Banana. Check / exchange power supply, SD card or cables?
  2. Do you have /dev/video ? Logitech C525, which is little newer than Quickcam, works out of the box with Skype on Exagear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__HKvtiOSTY&t=3s Image was build from latest sources - not from download section, but that should not be the case.
  3. It's not that bad as it might sound If you don't need advanced graphics / video acceleration, than mainline kernel is a good choice for such operation. There are some (basic) things which are still WIP but I encourage you to play with it. More people will use it, more people will be able to exchange help and ideas. It's getting improved on daily base, while legacy stay as is. We are probably among the only one, that still apply patches to it. But also rarely. Bottom up. You will probably waste less time by using development kernel for this particular job.
  4. Well ... BT works on kernel 3.4 but it's buggy and I haven't seen any interest in fixing it. IIRC you might get some BT mouse working, while audio won't work ... I had done everything what was in my power / knowledge. in this area. Mainline kernel for H3 boards ... check if nightly version exists otherwise you need to build on your own. No other way I am afraid. But beware that mainline kernel has other limitations ... if you use it for server, than you should mostly be fine. Add: there is yet another problem related to Wifi / BT with this particular board. One / first revision of this board has broken chip. Don't know exactly how, but it has some issues.
  5. Mainline or legacy? IIRC BT works well only on mainline kernel ... at least this is the case with Cubietruck where I did most of those tests.
  6. Kernel 4.x for H3 is still considered WIP and Bluetooth in general is not high priority. I also thought we fixed this - it should work with help of this firmware uploading script: https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib/blob/master/scripts/ap6212-bluetooth ... which should be a part of the system. It's possible that it worked and we break it. But what and where ... ?
  7. Since install can't locate some packages means you have missed something in their install instructions. We provide stock Debian / Ubuntu and headers, which are needed for possible module installation are already in place - no need to fetch them.
  8. Possible. Take a look at this part of the script: https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib/blob/second/common.sh#L257-L300
  9. Just pay attention more closely. First we asked you for changing u-boot, next for kernel. Than you need to change kernel files and patch is created.
  10. Try alternative - USB Redirector for Linux - I am using it on one x64 server and I used it also on those little ARM boards without a problem. Linux to Linux is free, for the rest you need to buy a licence.
  11. You are asking for troubles and wasting time by using this kind of PSU. Here you have to do something ...
  12. It's still WIP but you can build on your own with our tools ... we plan to put testing images during a weekend / next week.
  13. https://www.armbian.com/fff/ - with some java scripting to make Donate page as a DIV change on download click - added graph for support level, which we will define, for example this way: RECOMMENDED="Ubuntu_xenial_next_nightly.7z:33,Ubuntu_xenial_next.7z:100"
  14. @martinayotte He said PL8 is o.k.
  15. The first, more or less, generic answer is: there is no video acceleration within any browser on Linux for those boards. It's a complex problem, which we don't have resources to deal with, a job for a small team and so far I haven't see much progress if any. There might be some workarounds / plugins which pipe video to mpv (which knows to play accelerated video), but it's out of my interest zone. Don't know if that works.
  16. It should work also on Armbian, in theory, but such upgrade is always critical. There are many things, which could and go wrong ... if you provide some logs, we could at least learn something.
  17. I think you are facing one of the most typical problems - issuficient power supply / bad cable: https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Getting-Started/#prerequisites-for-new-users https://forum.armbian.com/index.php?/search/&q=crashing https://forum.armbian.com/index.php?/search/&q="stability issues"
  18. Images are set to obtain IP via DHCP from your router. You only need to boot with attached network cable and internet must work. If you have some other case, you need to set network in /etc/network/interfaces or connect to WiFi via nmtui-connect or desktop wifi client.
  19. I can add a question when exiting.
  20. What about to move armbian-config here: https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib/blob/master/scripts/update-motd.d/40-updates#L20 elif [ -f "/usr/bin/armbian-config" ]; then echo -e "[\e[31m General system configuration\e[0m: \e[1marmbian-config\e[0m ]\n" fi Showing it once is almost the same as not showing it at all.
  21. Well, if it works, push it.
  22. Logs are o.k. now and there are no obvious reasons. Does your USB hub has it's own power? If not, disconnect it, find powered one, try boot without ... HDMI is not running if your power supply is degraded. If you power via some USB, than it's normal that you face problems. Get this one and trash all your phone charger PSU(s). If you can, measure voltage on the board.
  23. KERNEL_SOURCE/.config -> copy out to lib/config/kernel/linux-rockchip-default.config Check if there is not something too much. 1-2MB is normal.
