  1. For server usage its O.K. for some time (with minor problems) and you could use it. Kernel is more or less o.k., but I would not recommend to use it in production environment. Not yet, we need more testing, so welcome to join ... I use one H3 board with this kernel for my IPTV server for example. The actual problem here is, that exactly this board is not yet properly configured and tested.
  2. Nothing is strange here. "Official" Rpi kernel version is 4.4.x, so you probably tried on that and "Official" Opi kernel is 3.4.x which is way older and in general less supported for 3rd party hardware than Rpi. Try on Opi One development image with kernel 4.10.x (at the moment). We provide one for One We don't deal with 3rd party hardware. Our group is way way too tiny for such operations.
  3. Those older building environment are not very well supported. Just go for latest version - we are doing daily builds with exact this script and we notice quickly if it breaks. It should be stable if you choose stable boards / default kernels and Ubuntu Xenial desktop if you need a desktop.
  4. It's possible that all those H3 boards are not fully supported yet in new (development) kernel since each board needs it's own hardware configuration config. We haven't done that yet for all boards.
  5. If you can not set this parameter, it's usually not supported. Nothing uncommon for those cheap chips (drivers). Kernel wise I don't recall that we would be missing something ... but also possible. From our perspective, we are done with fixes to the driver, when basic things works. Even that, sometimes proves to be mission hardcore / impossible and a lot of time gets wasted. If you seek advanced functionality on this chip ... prepare for code/debug/seek for help from wireless gurus battle
  6. In general: - going back to old kernel, where this problem does not manifest (?), - try new (developing) kernel to see if this is already fixed, - try to fix the problem and provide patch,

I already forgot how it was What is wrong with current logic? You can customise this "activity link" very much: https://forum.armbian.com/index.php?/discover/&do=create
  9. This topic is about (known) issues with Ethernet driver on mainline kernel, which is still in development phase and this driver is about to be rewritten AFAIK. On kernel 3.4.113 we didn't notice such problems. Double check your cables and other equipment first.
  10. This tool was made for older boards, is deprecated in any case and is about to be removed. Upgrade for H3 boards from legacy to mainline is not yet ready for end users ... kernel is still in development stage and you can run into various troubles, for which its impossible to provide end user help since things are changing on daily basis. If you still want to try, check this page: https://www.armbian.com/kernel to see which packages you need to change and do some forum search. It has been brought up few times.
  11. Few more things to add: - SPI and eMMC flash optional, not in all/both versions - those 4 pins are jumpers to switch between power connector and OTG+battery
  12. OK, Do you have serial console? What is u-boot's response?
  13. Read again and read what Jernej wrote: I gave you a hint, how you can try - at the supplied link you have: I am not sure it will work for you, but it's worth trying. Forget about armbianEnv.txt. This is not gonna work with this temporally driver and this development kernel, which we don't support anyway.
  14. @IgZero You can try to force screen resolution: https://docs.armbian.com/Hardware_Allwinner/#how-to-reconfigure-video-output
  15. I think this is related: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/linux-sunxi/usb$20otg|sort:relevance/linux-sunxi/-O3GckFuje8/aTAkPk1JCQAJ
  16. How much of this document have you read and took into consideration? https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Getting-Started/#how-to-prepare-a-sd-card If you can't boot anything, than other rear HW issues are also possible - broken SD card slot for example.

OK, have to check if this is know problem at theirs forums and I hope there is some fix / solution. Most of those new features are part of some plugin. I remain novice to forum code.

    Forum upgrade

I have been poking around forum and few things are changed or added. Worth mentioning / summary: - topic authors can always edit first posts, - quote and edit buttons moved under gear icon, - no horizontal separators in the user bar, - member menu is avatar only, - "Create new content" in menu changed to plus icon - search box is squared - minimised breadcrumb, posts and forum statistics
  19. Theoretical yes, practical no since the driver was made for A20 and it breaks while building for A10. Not without rework.
  20. Yes it exists. Check related posts, especially this one:
  21. Just a hint: building inside virtual machine is recommended for security reasons since script runs with superuser rights. In case of some nasty bug (ours or from external sources), your host machine can be wiped or crippled. If dedicated virtual machine is wiped is usually not a big issue.
  22. + one annoying problem. Upon updating you ended up booting random kernel ... you boot in last updated kernel.
  23. Bingo! That works Safe to add permanently?
