    If you still have time and will, I added mainline image to the beta builds, kernel 4.8.12, updated u-boot. Let's see if this works. Check .161207 build.

    My only A10 device, Cubieboard 1, doesn't show any sign of troubles, Try bare board, without anything on USB. If this does not help, there could be some problem with board configuration (script.bin) or simply power related issues, ...

    Some temporally screen corruption when kernel loads is normal, but you get a login prompt on HDMI console? Please provide some logs, that we can try to solve problems. Does kernel panic means, your board does not reboot or it just panics and reboot? Are you using wireless network? Login as root and type: armbianmonitor -u For server usage it's better to use mainline kernel. Check here how to upgrade: https://www.armbian.com/kernel/

    End of Q2 / 2017 in most optimistic scenario with mainline kernel, while you can try luck with stock Allwinner SDK. It should be possible to bring Docker to that kernel, while it's not recommended. H3, which is around for some time, is also not quite production ready with mainline, but Docker is working ...

    Yes, it should be. All upstream fixes are in Armbian nighty kernel build in less then 24h but you need to switch to DEV kernel + dtb in beta repository - details. BTW: I only have ath9 cards around and they used to had problems too. I have to check if this is also resolved ...

    Configuration was wrong ... fixed. In any case it's not perfectly accurate, read remarks. If you don't need video acceleration / multimedia rather switch to Vanilla kernel. It's in better shape, WiFi also works.

    ... or usbredirector ?, which we usually built on the way, while here the case is network within USB connection.

    You should go for OPi One or similar board if you need HDMI ... but you only need a display or better, serial console, only in case of troubles. Attach to network, look for boards IP on router and connect via SSH. Just check documentation.

    Yes, you only need to connect via SSH, when the system finished with booting and run h3disp tool with right options.

    Months ago I tried few things and IIRC most I got was no error regarding memory reservation, but also no picture. I guess it looks like we won't be able to extract 4k ... but that's also not so much of importance. Better 2k than 0k

    We removed our patch since it appeared upstream but something got messed up in between. Use this fix, until we sort this out. Legacy with kernel 3.4.113 should work ... can you provide serial console log. I can't find my M1+

    A20 and A31 should go 2160p at least on paper. I used to have A31 tablet with retina screen. I saw it only here ... but you know how Allwinner is How they can limit this?

    The only related problem is how to apply those changes to boards where 4k monitor is attached but are not capable of displaying 4k. H2 (and older AW) will be one of those I think? So far we have only one headless unit ...

    4k works on legacy kernel, out of the box.
