Igor got a reaction from mondalex in Orange Pi Zero Plus as an ethernet gadget
I actually wrote the exact procedure Edit /etc/modules. Remove g_serial and add g_ether instead .... save and reboot.
But remember, it's still only a theory. I haven't tested this.

Added. From my perspective, we can ditch temper.

Igor reacted to Larry Bank in bb-hole - a user level program to filter ads/malware from DNS requests
I just released a new library to act as a DNS filter. This differs from pi-hole in that it runs as a user-level program and doesn't depend on dnsmasq. This allows you to run it on a machine without changing your network configuration. It hasn't been rigorously tested, but appears to work properly. It can either proxy the packets to a trusted DNS server or spoof the return address using RAW sockets to route the response back to the requestor. It can fool web pages (like CNN) as it blocks ads and replaces dynamic ad script requests with innocuous javascript responses.

Igor got a reaction from mousavy_mh in Armbian for OrangePi PC2, AllWinner H5
It works. http://sprunge.us/GcLW At least with the latest build. We fiddled around that part lately and it could be broken ... will be fixed in next small update. ASAP.

Igor got a reaction from Lee Fromage in gc2035 camera driver for H5?
Low-level CSI driver is nonexisting in the modern kernel, the only one Armbian is using for H5. Has to be developed first. http://linux-sunxi.org/Linux_mainlining_effort

Remember. This is open source project running by amateurs and not enterprise-grade service. Go to GitHub and monitor progress.
We always write major changes to release documentation.

Igor reacted to Tilator in Tvheadend does not install on Debian (Cubietruck)
Good news now. Our young IT-man found the sources for 3.4.113 kernel. It needs only I2C-MUX set compiling in kernel.
After that it will compile Mygica T230C (third version with idVendor=0572, idProduct=c68a) drivers properly.
I do not know yet whether this works with 4.x kernels too.

Igor got a reaction from Bernie_O in upgrade jessie to stretch
Yes, it is correct. But there is always but ... unrelated to armbian. Distribution upgrades might sometimes cause troubles.
In case you are running kernel 3.4.y you need to upgrade to NEXT kernel first since 3.4.y is not sufficient for running Stretch.
Add: it is possible that you might need to deinstall jessie-root package and manually install stretch.

Igor got a reaction from Tasha Upchurch in fun! "boot up and remove sd" functionality
Haven't seen Wifi support but its probably doable (probably undeveloped, which means some hard work has to be done) ... In general, wired network support is at best and also I am not sure if this is enabled on all devices. This feature is not that much important to our case.
This should also work if you boot from the network.
