  1. H3 only has one hdmi output, so only one. But you can use a splitter, if the image will be the same on all tvs
  2. Mine is already shipped, Xunlong works fast these days
  3. this is most definitely a hardware issue, otherwise it wouldn't stop working all of a sudden.
  4. So right now it's a piece of worthless pcb, until some decent images are provided... Typical Xunlong way; hardware now, software later (or never) Still gonna buy one; until i get it and get around to play with it, i'm sure something will be done
  5. Makes sense. Obviously you guys have to get the board too and appropriate source code/documentation. Are there even any linux distros that run on H5 ? Also, there is no mention on the frequency of the arm cores or mali gpu. Any ideas on that ?
  6. https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/New-Orange-Pi-PC-2-H5-64bit-Support-the-Lubuntu-linux-and-android-mini-PC-Beyond/1553371_32761481418.html PC2 already up for orders Any ideas when it's going to be supported by armbian ?
  7. hopefully pc2 comes out soon too..
  8. Any info on the release ? We've been teased long enough
  9. Got mine and they seem to be genuine. Random write is pretty good too, as expected.
  10. Can you point me to where you bought EVO cards for 13€ ??
  11. would it be possible to make a ramdisk script, that would dump the whole firefox install on to ram and run it from there ? After the browser closes, every change gets dumped back to sd card. Just so non emmc users get a better experience. edit: Looks like there is a way on archlinux https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Firefox_on_RAM
  12. I'm very well aware, that H3's CPU is not very powerful. This doesn't change the fact, that with an optimized browser, experience would improve for those, that wanted to use it. If only midori/epiphany would work properly, that would definitely be an improvement. Sadly, it segfaults randomly.
  13. Wait for boards, that use this chipset. http://www.cnx-software.com/2016/09/12/hisilicon-hi3798m-v200-soc-to-deliver-cheaper-4k-tv-boxes-with-sata-gigabit-ethernet-andor-usb-3-0/ gigabit ethernet and sata/usb3
  14. MAybe it would make sense to dump places.sqlite into a ram cache for the time firefox runs and dump it to flash before it closes. And any other IO heavy file for that matter. Btw, can firefox use 2d accelaration ?
  15. I wonder if any work is being done in that direction. Every browser i tried has some sort of issues, that makes it less than usable on H3 devices. -epiphany/midori: both work decently, but lock up after some time with 25% cpu usage (could be a webkit1 issue ?) -chromium: slow and apparently absent from repos -firefox: works ok, but quite slow -net surf: very fast and stable, but not up to date for web standards (probably what makes it fast in the first place) Am i missing any browsers here ? I propose we optimize one of those, that would work best on out allwinner devices in a similar fashion of what raspberry team did with epiphany. I'm sure lots of folks would find more use for cheap fruit computers with better web browsing capabilities (kiosks ?)
  16. That would certainly explain thermal behavior and very low cost nature of H3. Guess we should fix the wiki, so no more misinformation
  17. Multiple sources suggest, that A20 is 40nm and H3 is 28nm.
  18. It's not necessery, that H5 will end up faster in cpu workloads. Given that A53 cores are actually less efficient than A7, it means that if SoC is fabricated on the same type of fab process (most likely 28nm) this will cause more heat which will translate into quicker throttling than A7. But under burst loads and with a proper heatsink, A53/H5 should be faster because of the newer architecture alone (let alone ARMv8 optimizations).
  19. Anyone has any ideas on the pricing of the two ?
  20. Seems like a decent upgrade. Hopefully OPIPC2 retains the 15$ pricepoint
  21. Mine was shipped yesterday. Very psyched about it
  22. My order is still processing, so i guess i was quick enough...
  23. Oh well, looks like i'm getting another one Now this is truly a throwaway price. I mean, some cases cost more than that.
