  1. You are absolutely right, I didn't consider this obvious fact... But it suppose it may be possible for rk3399 or rk3368. The main problem is probably about u-boot compatibility (especially for rk3368).
  2. Do you think your images may work on tv boxes with other rk soc, like rk3288? I saw in the dtb folder of your images, that there is files for various rk soc.
  3. Even if you don't want to support it, here is the situation with wifi: - on ugoos ut3s it seems to be ap6335, is it similar for you? - when i write the folowing commands: sudo rmmod brcmfmac sudo modprobe brcmfmac I have no error on the command line, but on dmesg I can read: [ 190.311691] brcmfmac: brcmf_fw_alloc_request: using brcm/brcmfmac4339-sdio for chip BCM4339/2 [ 190.311982] brcmfmac mmc1:0001:1: Direct firmware load for ap6330/brcm/brcmfmac4339-sdio.bin failed with error -2 [ 191.313814] brcmfmac: brcmf_sdio_htclk: HT Avail timeout (1000000): clkctl 0x50 brcmfmac appears with lsmod, but there is no wireless interface with iwconfig. In dmesg, i app6330 is written instead of ap6335, maybe it is the problem. Have you any clue to solve that?
  4. I had no time to look at this yesterday, but lspci does not work on most arm board, since, there is no real pci bus like on standard motherboards. I will open the box and look at the chip, or if it's too difficult to read, I suppose I can find this info on the web. Some other elements are not working: reboot, power button and power led. I didn't test audio, bluetooth seems to work and I successfully installed JMCC's media script. Another annoying fact is that desktop is a bit long to launch (a few minutes) after boot seems to be finished (I can log in console and use the system).
  5. Just another result for a rk3288 board (ugoos ut3s): http://ix.io/1mLr I use jock armbian xenial desktop image with 4.18 kernel. This tv box has a fan, but it does not seem to work with current setting, since throttling occurs and I didn't see the fan rotating, but I go away before the end of the run. Current ambient temperature is about 24-25°C.
  6. Hi jock, Thanks for your work, I am able to boot my ugoos ut3s with your 4.18.6 image (haven't tried others). In my case, wifi doesn't work. I suppose my box haven't the same wireless chip as yours. Will make additionnal testing and will try to fix that later.
  7. Mine is flashed with superceleron rom and I don't have official rom to flash it back to the device.
  8. Yes, I have v88 mini III. I'll try to test your image this week-end. Is there a specific image you want some feedback ?
  9. This is https://fr.gearbest.com/media-player/pp_691659.html, but noname. I use it as a small linux desktop for children.
  10. Yes, as for every linux distribution.
  11. New result with 0.6 version: http://ix.io/1lBq In manjaro /sys/.../cpufreq does not contain cpuinfo_cur_freq but scaling_cur_freq. I modified line 164 of your script and I will report the new results soon. Edit: here are the new results with cpufreq values: http://ix.io/1lBy There is no temperature values since acpi thermal_zone0 is always equal to 0. Zone2 seems more relevant, but I'm not sure.
  12. I suppose you mean root and not admin as username for the first log, isn't it?
  13. uname -a gives: Linux x5 4.17.18-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Aug 22 21:51:13 UTC 2018 x86_64 GNU/Linux /usr/local/src/mhz/mhz 3 1000000 gives: count=807053 us50=21105 us250=105599 diff=84494 cpu_MHz=1910.320 tsc50=30391272 tsc250=152061768 diff=150 rdtsc_MHz=1439.990 count=807053 us50=21134 us250=106725 diff=85591 cpu_MHz=1885.836 tsc50=30432150 tsc250=153683442 diff=152 rdtsc_MHz=1440.003 count=807053 us50=21113 us250=105892 diff=84779 cpu_MHz=1903.898 tsc50=30403566 tsc250=152484984 diff=151 rdtsc_MHz=1439.996 and sudo find /sys -name cpufreq gives: /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/cpufreq /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu2/cpufreq /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq /sys/module/cpufreq I made a big upgrade yesterday after running your script, but I was already with a 4.17 kernel. If I have time, I will look at kernel and cpufeq stuff. During execution of sbc-bench, there was multiple errors about cpufreq referring to line 144 (if I remember well).
  14. Hi, I saw you tested your Up board based on atom z8300, so I tested my x5 based on z8350: http://ix.io/1lwg However, I have only manjaro installed on it and cpufreq is not reported, nor the soc temperature, so maybe this numbers are not relevant for you.
  15. For (very) small AP maybe onion omega2 (https://onion.io/omega2/) can be interesting. I don't know its performance for network handling with TOR and the hardware is light (580MHz MIPS CPU, 128MB, 2.4GHz b/g/n WiFi). The board itself is 13$, but you need ethernet and it's 12$ more for the expansion board.
  16. Nice for you. I hope that you'll be able to do everything you want thanks to Balbes work.
  17. I think these images from Balbes should work: https://yadi.sk/d/pHxaRAs-tZiei/5.44/kernel_3.14_20180729 With freaktab images, you have to use usb_burning_tool: https://www.cnx-software.com/2018/05/01/usb-burning-tool-v2-16-released/ In effect you can brick your box, but if you follow a guide and use a compatible rom, it should work well. As usually mentioned, use it at your own risk .
  18. If you try to boot with a 3.14 kernel based image with no dtb (in fact it uses the one from android installed on emmc), is it booting after aml_autoscript update ? If this latter doesn't work, have you modified the pre-installed rom? If no, try to flash one from freaktab for instance (I use this one on my tap pro and it should be compatible with your box: http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-support/amlogic-based-tv-players/s912/mecool/firmware-roms/687424-rom-vorke-z6-tanix-tx92-stock-nano-nexus-rom-android-7-1)
  19. You'll see here the state of 4.55 images of Balbes: In my case I only test successfully debian stretch server image. @Didi, don't forget to use aml_autoscript.zip to update your bootloader (see 1rst post of s905 topic) so that it tries first to boot to sd card. If your dtb file isn't good, you'll not be able to boot even in android if your sdcard is plugged in.
  20. I was also able to boot from a s912 device (TAP Pro 2/16Gb) with dtb meson-gxm-vega-s96.dtb. I made the same tests and had the same resultsas with x96 mini: - no wifi/bt - DE install ok If you want some logs or any additionnal information, don't hesitate to ask.
  21. I tested your newest debian server on my x96 mini with s905w dtb and it works well! I was also able to install a desktop environment with armbian-config. As expected wifi and bluetooth are not detected. It should require some specific firmware (armbian-firmware installed) but I had not open my box to see the chip. I also saw a problem with zram service not working.
  22. I booted with 4.18 on my X96 mini as I claimed here: I just downloaded latest 5.44 image (was the 20180727) from link provided in 1rst post of this topic. Then burnt it to an sdcard and use the dtb for p281 (copy it and rename it as dtb.img at the root of the fat partition as explained on the 1rst post).
  23. Hi, Thanks for your excellent work, I tested last image (debian xfce) on x96mini 2/16 and it boots well using p281 dtb file. I'm writting this post from it: Linux aml 4.18.0-rc5-aml-s9xxx #16 SMP PREEMPT Fri Jul 27 20:02:44 MSK 2018 aarch64 GNU/Linux Here is some feedbacks about some (minor or not depending of usage) problems: - no sound from the av port even if pulseaudio shows some activities (tested with mpv test video and a youtube video within chromium browser) - wireless card is not recognized (nothing with lsmod and obviously nothing with iwconfig (only lo and eth0)) - videoplayback is not accelerated - no mali driver for 3d acceleration even if glxinfo doesn't report any error I didn't try to solve any of these issues and maybe some of them are easy to fix. I'll see if I have time for that in a near future. In conclusion, current usage is mainly as server even if desktop starts well.
  24. You should use armbianmonitor command (look at the doc for the options, i don't remeber them) or directly run: cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone*/temp
  25. A quick review of recent testing images made with samsung sdcards (evo 16 or 32GB). I only check a few things: - Armbian_5.44.180510_Pine64_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.10.107_desktop: - work as expected (no libreoffice application pre-installed) - start in 720p and successfully reboot to 1080p after modifying armbian_uEnv.txt - Armbian_5.44.180510_Pine64_Debian_jessie_default_3.10.107: - boot fail: eth led are off, no hdmi signal - Armbian_5.44.180510_Pine64_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.10.107: - work as expected - successfull switch to next kernel (4.14.40) - successfull switching to dev kernel (4.17.0-rc3) - Armbian_5.44.180510_Bananapipro_Ubuntu_xenial_next_4.14.40: - work as expected - successfull switch to dev kernel (4.17.0-rc3), but no wifi - Armbian_5.44.180510_Orangepione_Ubuntu_xenial_next_4.14.40: - work as expected - fail to switch to dev kernel (ethernet led are on but not blinking and no hdmi signal) Only pine64 debian stretch image fails to boot. I have no more time in the coming days to investigate further.
