Have you tried plugging anything else into the usb port? Did it work? Like a usb flash, another wifi dongle or usb-hdd?

yes, like a mouse, keyboard it works,

by the way when I use lsusb the wifi dongle show up but it didn't show the available network .

windows has it own driver, but maybe this chipset isnt common on linux or this armbian-image?

It looks like that your WiFi-Dongle respond properly on the OPi One - so it looks like a bad device or to less power on the usb-port.

You could try to configure it with nmtui

check there if it will find any wifi in range.

I tried to configure it with nmtui but it didn't work

why via vnc-viewer? then do want to connect on a vnc-server on the OPi One or on a vnc-server on another system?

RJ45-Cable is Ethernet? Then you can configure the port via armbian-config or nmtui.

I want to play os on the computer no on the external screen ,yes i want to connect on a vnc-server on the OPI One the only way for that is connect the rj45 to the laptop & configure it to make a static IP for opi1 & connect it to "putty" then I can connect with vnc server

I think you should try again with a different WiFi dongle, this one looks defective ...

when I tried this dongle with windows its works  correctly but I don't know why it's not work here.

    Troubleshooting ...

First, do you see your WiFi USB dongle while doing a "lsusb" ?

Second, check "dmesg | grep mt7601", do you see something like this ? :

    Yes, but only if

    - your board is this https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-one/

    - you are using Armbian Buster/Bionic with kernel 4.19.y (first two options)

    - your power supply is good

    - your board hardware is fully functional

If you are using this board https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-one-plus/ I am not sure, board is officially not supported yet since we are still in fixing bugs mode ... and perhaps those wireless cards are not enabled by some coincidence yet.

    im using Orange pi one

& yes im using armbian Buster 4.19

    my power supply is good

    so what is the problem???

i cant reach to the internet until now i dont konw if i should configure the wifi usb dongle or not

It seems that you are using a WiFi USB dongle that is not supported, otherwise it would appeared !

Use some RTL8188 or MT7601 dongles, it should work fine ...

I use mt7601u USB wifi dongle and I think it is compatible with my board am I right?
