  1. Well an identical error happened again............

I am getting really frustrated with this machine - I am not touching it and it just stops working. I have had a helios4 stable for 2-3 years (or however long we have had them) and never had a hiccup.

This machine randomly reboots, the software / hardware does not seem stable. Am I doing something wrong?

  2. Thanks for your help - I played around with that for a while, but ended up just reinstalling. It was pretty annoying actually, but fast.

How does something like this go wrong in a system that is just sitting there?? Anyhow back on deck.

  3. Hi All,

My helios64 died the other day - well failing to boot. It had been solid for quite some time, then I might have made the mistake of updating it....

This is from putty on booting:

Any chance of recovery or start again? Any help would be much appreciated.

  4. Hi All,

    I am on my Helios64 (already have a Helios4).

    I am running 2 x 8TB, 1x 256 M2, OMV5 debian etc.

I have ZFS running (from the wiki instructions) in a basic mirror format, and if I add a few drives I think it would still be a mirror, however I have the following question. It seems far more complicated than MDADM, and potentially more unstable (not in terms of the underlying technology, but in terms of changing these kernals etc every week).

Do you think for an average home user that this is really worth it or will constantly need work? To change it would mean starting again, but I do not want to change the setup every month and would intend to keep it stable for media, and backing up some stuff for the next few years. Or if it is working it should be fine for the long term?

    Cheers
    Scott

There are tho paths - currently build with 0.5.8. but the same goes for 2.0.

https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/2410 (works automagically, slow to build, overhead)

https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/2414 (need a bit more attention and help to put it together but its better solution)

    Hi Igor,

I have been going down this path for the Helios and it is a pain. I am the type of user who knows enough about linux to need to reinstall :)

Are you able to suggest actually putting this into practice? Is it as simple as editing the various files listed in the repos here? if you update won't this be overwritten?
