  1. Hi all, Hi @jock

Today I upgrade to 5.18.10 with all the .deb from https://users.armbian.com/jock/rk3318/upgrade/

So I tried to use the CPU at 1.3GHz as I could before in schedutil mode but I had a problem of freeze suddenly I went down to 1GHz in schedutil mode too..

Maybe if I flash the new release => https://users.armbian.com/jock/rk3318/Armbian_22.08.0-trunk_Rk3318-box_jammy_edge_5.18.14_kde-plasma_desktop.img.xz

  3. Thanks to you bro @jock all this is only possible through your work.
I'm only testing.. But I haven't a serial adaptater, pity that u-boot does not save the log directly in a file it would be easier..

Maybe I'll invest in a serial adapter.. something like this will do https://www.amazon.fr/AZDelivery-Adaptateur-UART-TTL-conversion-dinterface/dp/B08T24NML9/ref=sr_1_38?keywords=adaptateur+usb+serie&qid=1656347527&sr=8-38

System run from 8h45 without freeze..

  4. Hi @jock

After 3h47 of operation, system freezed again.

Reboot and there is some update

    Start-Date: 2022-06-27 08:08:26
    Commandline: apt upgrade
    Upgrade: udev:arm64 (249.11-0ubuntu3.1, 249.11-0ubuntu3.3), libnss-myhostname:arm64 (249.11-0ubuntu3.1, 249.11-0ubuntu3.3), libpam-systemd:arm64 (249.11-0ubuntu3.1, 249.11-0ubuntu3.3), libsystemd0:arm64 (249.11-0ubuntu3.1, 249.11-0ubuntu3.3), systemd:arm64 (249.11-0ubuntu3.1, 249.11-0ubuntu3.3), libudev1:arm64 (249.11-0ubuntu3.1, 249.11-0ubuntu3.3), systemd-sysv:arm64 (249.11-0ubuntu3.1, 249.11-0ubuntu3.3)
    End-Date: 2022-06-27 08:09:43

    Wait and see..

If the system freezes again, I'll try 1.1 GHz but the RK3328 is designed to run at 1.4 GHz and can accept 1.5 GHz normally.
Maybe I need to change something in dtb as I can add 1.4ghz and 1.5ghz overlays but in armbian-config I can't select those values only 1296Mhz has maximum value.

  5. Come on, this time I restarted on the SD card which had served me during the installation on the EMMC, Kernel 5.15.35 and where I had not yet tried the installation of Anbox.
So I try the upgrade around 5.18.6 and again I have two errors first with Headers and then with armbian-bsp-cli-rk3318-box_22.08.0-trunk_arm64.deb

and I reinstall on my Emmc but just after complete flash, the system freeze again..(maybe caused by my sd-card cause it's A2)

So I reboot on Emmc with 5.18.6, start desktop launch firefox and go on youtube but when I launch a video firefox is killed.. The system run from 40min. But I think that a freeze will soon happen ..
How can I know what is problematic, is there a log file that can help or software maybe ..?

edit : And damn my system freezes again..

    Reboot and launch "apt upgrade"

=>The following packages will be upgraded:
      armbian-config armbian-firmware armbian-zsh box64
4 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

Then remove dkms anbox module, but I note all the same that the ashmen module could be installed with this kernel.. (interesting..) the binder module on the other hand is in error.

My box has been running for 20 minutes now, hoping that it is stable..

I also remove overlays for 1.4ghz and 1.5ghz.. But why can't I set to 1.5ghz when I have an RK3328..?

  7. Hi @jock

I don't quite understand what happened. I just installed the .deb files (with the "dpkg -i *.deb" command) on top of the ubuntu desktop kernel 5.15.35 release. Nothing more, maybe the problem is that I Tried to install Anbox before (without success by the way)..
This morning I ran the command "sudo apt reinstall ./*.deb"

Notice: The following packages require a reboot.
      network-manager
      gnome-shell
    Finished Successfully

The reboot did not work, I had to unplug the box electrically.
Then the start was able to be carried out correctly.

But there is some BUG in dmesg output, see

  10. Hi @jock

This morning, my box is freezed..

With kernel 5.15.35 I never had any freeze despite non-stop use over several days (I remember working for more than 14 days, without worries..)

    I reboot, launch

    sudo nala update

and my system freeze again.. Kernel 5.18.6 upgrade over 5.15.35 on Ubuntu desktop release (Emmc install) freeze on my RK3328..

    Reboot is Ok.

    Thank again..!

  12. Hi @Robert Chase

As @SteeMan said you can use the links from the first post => https://users.armbian.com/balbes150/arm-64/?

But it's a bit old, and especially Balbes no longer develops for Amlogic proc.

There are other possibilities currently to have Armbian on our Gt-King Pro but nothing official..
A new possibility can boot with U-root and the armbian UEFI-arm64 image but I is not tested yet.

Anyway, it is possible to run Armbian on the Beelink GT-King Pro.. Good luck..

  13. Hi @jock and everyone

I am trying to install Anbox https://docs.anbox.io/userguide/install.html but the current kernel is not compatible. Modules are missing..

I tried to install these modules as shown here https://github.com/anbox/anbox-modules but it fails..

I see on github armbian build that .config need add CONFIG_KPROBES=y https://github.com/armbian/build/commit/369b0909f6d268375eb17ecec6f0e71975001a33

    and I find https://github.com/SoulInfernoDE/compile-kernel-from-source/blob/main/nogui/.config-fragment

It seems to me that it would also be necessary to add these different lines in the .config of the kernel compilation, but I may be wrong..

    Any help is welcome.

Would it be possible to modify the kernel config in order to be able to install and use Anbox.

    Thank again and again..

    Have a nice day..

How can I solve this error ?

  15. Hi everybody and @jock

I flashed the jammy release xfce on SD-card and boot on my old MX10-TvBox. (RK3328)

I checked dmesg and there is some lines in red

Here is the whole output from 'armbianmonitor -U' ('armbianmonitor -u' can't directly upload..)

    https://paste.yunohost.org/oruxuwocub.vbs

I'm not sure this needs to be corrected, maybe it's just this old Chinese box with more or less well-integrated hardware.
Finally I share anyway, thank you again for everything @jock

  16. Hi everyone,
I'm looking to set up a minimal gui under wayland but it's not easy for a beginner.
    I found https://github.com/arcbjorn/arc-arch-linux-installation-guide#for-full-desktop-gui
But it's based on arch linux and I struggle a bit to adapt..
So I'm trying to post here to see if some of us can manage a script for installing a minimal gui under wayland.. or if you think it's a waste of time to try this experiment (for the instant..)
Thanks again and again armbian is great..!

Run apt-mark hold linux-image-edge-rockchip64 linux-dtb-edge-rockchip64 to avoid the upgrade of kernel with the armbian official one, since it still does not contain rk3318

    Hi @jock

I did use the 'apt mark' command as shown in the first post but now it seems to be using the linux-image-current-rockchip64 branch..
    Should linux-image-current-rockchip64 be 'apt mark'?
