Christos reacted to SKayser in dirtyCOW fix for 3.4.112
    Hello,

I attempted to port the dirty COW fix (https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=19be0eaffa3ac7d8eb6784ad9bdbc7d67ed8e619) for 3.4.112, and came up with this: https://github.com/SvenKayser/Sambooca-Kernel-H3/commit/543472582a6adcef12fae4ad11da72a62f29fb74.patch

Apparently it solves the issue, but to be sure maybe some of you guys can give it a test. If it checks out please do commit it in the right places for Armbian - which I wouldn't know (Armbian has so many kernel patch folders, I don't wanna mess things up)

    Regards

    Sven

Christos reacted to tkaiser in [Legacy kernel] All H3 audio drivers are broken at 24bit resolution?
I remember some linux-sunxi devs being pretty enthousiastic a few days ago when new HDMI drivers have been spotted in latest release of Allwinner's 3.4 BSP since this is the first time they got a proper license (and can now be used to implement HDMI in mainline kernel and u-boot). Maybe the same applies to Audio too (still no idea since enjoying the silence )

They do. This is done entirely in u-boot and mainline/vanilla kernel doesn't touch these settings. So unlike legacy kernel where you can control DRAM clockspeed from userspace (h3consumption tool) with vanilla kernel you stay with the fixed value set in u-boot.

BTW: I'm currently testing 'add_usb_ports_to_small_h3-boards.patch', if this succeeds I will commit it within the next hour. As a result all USB ports on the small H3 boards should be useable without further tweaks.

Edit: Tested, works and commited: https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib/commit/14fa719934d38f579eb0ded346f448b6b0fda6bc
