  1. Are you running the latest image, and what other dtb's have you tried?
  2. Depends on your box and dtb, on my MiniMx-III and MiniM8S it works fine
  3. It needs the .config file which should be in /lib/modules/5.2.0-aml-g12/build/. It is present in all new releases of Linus (Mint 19, Ubuntu 18.04 etc)
  4. I'm getting into trouble when I try to compile a driver for the TBS5520SE USB DVB/S/S2 tuner> Preparing to compile for kernel version 5.2.0 File not found: /lib/modules/5.2.0-aml-g12/build/.config at ./scripts/make_kconfig.pl line 33, <IN> line 4. make[1]: *** [Makefile:388: allyesconfig] Error 2 There is no build directory in the referenced modules directory, is it possible to build it_ Any advice?
  5. Yes I know, the thought is thaat maybe it can give us some clue as to why it does not boot, perhaps Igor (Balbes150) can help decoding the bootlog...
  6. Tried with both bootloaders but still jo joy. Flashing works fine but no boot. I notice that there are 3 points marked rx, gnd and tx, maybe I should try to hook up an rs232->usb converter and see if I can get a bootlog....
  7. Thanks for all your effort, I'll give it a go and report back
  8. I flashed the Android 8.1 from Gearbest download link: https://www.gearbest.com/blog/download/a5x-max-rk3328-tv-box-rom-firmware-pack-3238 How does the MiniLoader work? And does the error message about config.ini have any significance?
  9. I was able to verify that the box is ok by flashing another download of the stock Android rom, so I tried flashing the Linux image again. The log says "16:05:43 Error: failed to stat config.ini, err=2" repeadetly, console output is: karstein@Pallas ~/A5XMax/a5xmaxplus_linux_flasher $ ./flash.sh Downloading bootloader succeeded. Writing gpt succeeded. Write LBA from file (100%) Upgrading loader succeeded. Reset Device OK. karstein@Pallas ~/A5XMax/a5xmaxplus_linux_flasher $ but the box does not boot when powered up. Monitor is not turned on (ie no video output) and the red LED in the box is the only one lit.
  10. I'm in the process of doing the same thing with dtb for MXQ Pro+, there is a dtb for board #212 (most things work except wifi) but my box has board #213, so your work is of great interest to me Please let us know how you are progressing
  11. Thanks I'll give it a go. I flashed the stock Android with the recommended FactoryTool.
  12. No the flashing goes ok. The srock Android was downloaded from Gearbest (or was it Banggood?) where I bought the box.
  13. No. Use one of the dtb's in DTB folder on BOOT on the sd-card.
  14. How do you prevent Armbian from turning off the screen after a few minutes? I can't find any setting for power management or screensaver setting? Is it possible at all?
  15. Thanks but I suspect my box is FUBAR, it doesen't give out video even when I flash the stock Android 8.1
  16. Ok, managed to flash successfully but no boot with either image. Unsure of what dtb to use...
  17. Ah no, I just pushed the reset button while inserting the USB cable...
  18. Impatiently I tested with the Balbes image, as soon as I start ./flash.sh it says "The device does not support this operation!" Is the script/sw written for an A5XMax and does not work on A5XMax+ ? Needless to say the box did not boot when powered up, I also tried the Rock64 image, same result. Label on my box says A5Xmax+432183702296
  19. Yes please, I am very interested. How do I do it? Thanks in advance Edit: I have the 4GB RAM / 32Gb ROM version Edit2: I see there is a script for loading into the A5Max+, can Balbes images be loaded with this? Or converted to be loadable?
  20. Excuse me for not having answer to your question, can I just ask how you got the A5X Max to boot from SD-card? I can't seem to get mine booting, it is a brand new box, title A5X Max+ with Android 8.1. Is that different from your box?
  21. There is no comments at all in extlinux.conf and only one FDT line, I edited the FDT line to use rk3328-box-liantong.dtb since it seems most appropiate for my box....
