  1. thank you friends! you pointed me the right direction and it works perfectly.
  2. Hello, this question is not armbian specific but I am dealing with it while using armbian. I have 8GB microsd card but my armbian is using just 1.5GB on it. Now I need to clone/copy this card. I use win32diskimager (on windows) but disadvantage this approach is, that it makes bytedata image file (all 8GB of the whole microsd card even with blank space) but my data have 1.5GB only. Is there any utility/software which makes image with 1.5GB only? I mean when I burn 8GB image size after that to another microsd card, it takes 5x more time to finish as if I could burn just 1.5GB image. I think it must be able to do it somehow, because armbian images has about 1.5GB only. Any help will be highly appreciated.
  3. Hello, I am using Armbian 5.30 stable Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS 3.4.113-sun8i and when I plugged usb grabber with chipset utv007 lsusb shows Bus 002 Device 005: ID 1b71:3002 Fushicai USBTV007 Video Grabber [EasyCAP]. But /dev/video0 is not created. Please, Is there any hack or module I should load to have it in /dev/video0?
  4. By the way, in Ubuntu_xenial_next_4.13.5 I don't see spidev in /dev. I tried to enable it via armbian-config but after reboot I did not see it there... Is it a bug or should I do something else?
  5. is there any step by step tutorial for this?
  6. I can confirm that Ubuntu detects is correctly as "Fushicai USBTV007 Video Grabber [EasyCAP]". But I would rather have Debian release, because all scripts I have made are for debian (and maybe tweaking would be necessary). Any idea how to get Armbian Debian for correct detection os utv007 please?
  7. so Armbian_5.30_Orangepizero_Debian_jessie_dev_4.11.3 is not detecting the device out of the box P.S. I prefer debian, but I will try ubuntu in few minutes.
  8. I would like to learn it but unfortunately these days I would pay someone who is able to do it faster than me Now I am installing Armbian_5.30_Orangepizero_Debian_jessie_dev_4.11.3 kernel, so will see if it works or not.
  9. oh, so it means even when I try Armbian 5.30, it will not work. Am I right? Unfortunately, I am not so powerfull user and I have never compiled kernel, step by step instruction would be great. (by the way I just need to get video, not audio) Should it work with Armbian_5.30_Orangepizero_Debian_jessie_dev_4.11.3 please?
  10. Hello, I am using Armbian 5.25 Linux 8 jessie 3.4.113-sun8i and when I plugged usb grabber with chipset utv007 lsusb shows only 1b71:3002 without name of device. How can I add driver for this device to my armbian? (preferably without reinstalling Armbian) or If I install new version 5.3, will it work out of the box? Thank you!
  11. Hello, my Orange Pi Zero CPU is constantlyrunning at 67-68-70°C (it is the same with/without passive cooler). Is this temperature ok for my board? Can I run it with this temperature long time (weeks, months, years)? Thanks for help.
  12. Hi there, I have problem with recovering "sudo h3consumption -m 1200 -c 4" on Orange Pi Zero, where it activates just 2 cores. No idea why. When I used "sudo h3consumption -m 900 -c 1" it worked fine, but now, when I am trying to recover all 4 cores it activates just 2 cores. Which files h3consumption changes? (so I will be able to backup them with clean install and the restore them once needed to recover settings for all 4 cores). And I found out, that with "sudo armbianmonitor -m" it shows CPU changes 900Mhz, 1018Mhz (dont remember exact values) but now it just shows 480 P.S. I made backups of these files: sudo cp /etc/backup_2017_05_21_rc.local /etc/rc.local sudo cp /boot/backup_2017_05_21_bin_orangepizero.bin /boot/bin/orangepizero.bin sudo cp /boot/backup_2017_05_21_bin_orangepizero.bin /boot/script.bin UPDATE: after few restarts and combination of echo 1 >/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu2/online; echo 1 >/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/online; in rc.local now 4 cores work again. Strange behaviour.
  13. Thanks gnasch! But I read h3consumption works just with H3 boards only and Opi Zero is H2 board. Will it work with OpiZero in this case please?
  14. Hi friends, I am trying to downclock my OPi Zero and set/disable unused cores 1,2,3, limit DRAM speed, limit max cpu core frequency, put voltage down. Is this possible on Opi Zero? I tried e.g. but when I cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/online is is always 1. Any idea please? Some advice how to do all of this is highly appreciated. I am trying to downclock Opi Zero to push produced heat down.
  15. thanks for help! I bought another microphone and I found out that first microphone was very low quality. Now everything works! P.S. I am using scheme by Ford Prefect.
  16. Hi there, I am using SD Card Copier on Raspbian to copy one Raspberry microsd card to another (can be smaller than original card) and it works great. But when I used it to copy armbian microsd card to another microsd card, another microsd card is unable to boot. Any idea what can be wrong? I love this approach because I am able to copy original card to smaller card but unfortunatelly Armbian OS is not able to boot (on the other hand Raspbian boots ok). When I use Win32DiskImager to copy Rasbian and Armbian, both new cards boot up successfully. Any idea please how can I use SD Card Copier installed on Raspbian to copy microsd card with Armbian to be able to successfully boot it after copying?
  17. Thank you friends! I made small progress. Now I am able to record voice, but is is extremely quiet (I need to set maximum volume on my pc and VLC volume boost up to 200% - and even with these steps recorded voice is very quiet). Any idea please how to boost it? I tried to maximize everything in alsamixer but it did not help.
  18. Thank you for your message. Please where can I found values for capacitors (C118,C120,C119,C121,C122) and resistors? Some of them they have values and some don't have. And what is that green part between MIC1P and MIC1N? I am sorry for newbie questions.
  19. Hello, I made my microphone setup with microphone mce103 according to this scheme pin 10 (MIC-BIAS) ..... 3 - 15V in scheme, pin 11 (MIC 1P) ....... NF, pin 12 (MIC 1N) ....... (-) in alsamixer I have: audiocodec, mic1_2 audio capture mode. then I tried: arecord -i -f S16 -r 22050 test.wav and it saved this wav file (in attachment). I am not able to record audio, it records just noise as in attached sample. What can be wrong please? test_.wav
  20. Hello, I know this is not very Armbian related but no idea where to ask and maybe someone is able to help (because of lack of documentation). I would like to connect this microphone to OPi Zero gpio. It has:1 5V2 GND3 USB-DM24 USB-DP25 USB-DM36 USB-DP37 LINEOUTR8 LINEOUTL9 TV-OUT10 MIC-BIAS11 MIC1P12 MIC1N13 CIR-RX I would like to connect this microphone (picture) to gpio, if I understand it correctly, I need to use MIC-BIAS, MIC1P, MIC1N. But this microphone has just two pins. How should I connect it to gpio please? And what should I activate in Armbian to be able to record from this microphone? (probably alsa, set device, which software to use for recording)
  21. UPDATE: After several trial and errors I found out, probably, it is related to THIS sudo /home/user/hyperion/build/bin/hyperiond /home/user/hyperion.config.json. Because when I run this script via rc.local and then manually hyperion-v4l2, then behaviour is the same.
  22. I don't think so. Program is not trying to search for config files. According to my opinion program just not receive the right parameters, but no idea why. When I try to execute the same program with/without sudo via terminal, it works ok (It gets parameters ok).
  23. please, I am really helpless. I am on Armbian. I am trying to run hyperion-v4l2 in /etc/rc.local (please it is not important why for now) with these parameters: Code: /home/user/hyperion/build/bin/hyperion-v4l2 --device /dev/video0 --video-standard PAL --width 720 --height 576 --crop-top 10 --crop-bottom 10 --crop-left 24 --crop-right 24 --frame-decimator 1 --size-decimator 4 --red-threshold 0.2 --green-threshold 0.4 --blue-threshold 1.0 (before v4l2 I am executing sudo /home/user/hyperion/build/bin/hyperiond /home/user/hyperion.config.json) But it does not take crop parameters in effect (important for blackborder detection) of hyperion-v4l2. I tried to put the whole command in sh and python script (subprocess) but it is the same, in rc.local crop parameters are omitted, no idea why. BUT when I execute the same SH or Python script when I log in via my user, it works correctly. What can be wrong? In rc.local and all executed scripts via rc.local it does not take crop parameters in effect. Maybe the line with parameters is very long, but I don't understand it because manually the same scripts work correctly. UPDATE: After several trial and errors I found out, probably, it is related to THIS sudo /home/user/hyperion/build/bin/hyperiond /home/user/hyperion.config.json. Because when I run this script via rc.local and then manually hyperion-v4l2, then behaviour is the same.
