  1. I would like to use unionfs-fuse because my project on RPi is based on this, but now I ported to OPi and I am not able to refactor it for overlayfs.
  2. Hello, I thought there is dphys-swapfile so I tried to disable it. sudo dphys-swapfile swapoff sudo dphys-swapfile uninstall sudo update-rc.d dphys-swapfile disable But dphys-swapfile is not installed for swap file. How can I disable swap in armbian completely? Is it enough to just remove this line "/var/swap none swap sw 0 0" from fstab?
  3. Hello, when I am using unionfs on RPi, in /etc/fstab I change this proc /proc proc defaults 0 0 /dev/mmcblk0p1 /boot vfat defaults 0 2 /dev/mmcblk0p2 / ext4 defaults,noatime 0 1 to this proc /proc proc defaults 0 0 /dev/mmcblk0p1 /boot vfat ro 0 2 /dev/mmcblk0p2 / ext4 ro,noatime 0 1 mount_unionfs /home fuse defaults 0 0 mount_unionfs /etc fuse defaults 0 0 mount_unionfs /var fuse defaults 0 0 mount_unionfs /media fuse defaults 0 0 none /tmp tmpfs defaults 0 0 1. But on OrangePi Zero there is in fstab is just this UUID=28c1cfce-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-92472adc14bf / ext4 defaults,noatime,nodiratime,commit=600,errors=remount-ro 0 1 tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults,nosuid 0 0 /var/swap none swap sw 0 0 2. And in RPi I must append ro in /boot/cmdline.txt file. Where should I append it in Armbian? How should I change it on OPi? Many thanks
  4. Somehow it started working - when I installed dnsmasq and set listen address do 127.0.0.1 but when I want activate AP, I must stop dnsmasq first.
  5. Hello, I am trying to make simple AP on my orange pi zero. sudo nmcli c add type wifi ifname '*' con-name Hotspot autoconnect no ssid Hotspotssid sudo nmcli connection modify Hotspot 802-11-wireless.mode ap 802-11-wireless.band bg ipv4.method shared sudo nmcli connection modify Hotspot wifi-sec.key-mgmt wpa-psk sudo nmcli connection modify Hotspot wifi-sec.psk "lepassword" sudo nmcli connection up Hotspot But after "sudo nmcli connection up Hotspot" I am getting "Error: Connection activation failed.". Any idea please? P.S. Connection to internal home wifi network works ok.
  6. Hi @rellla, I am posting new image about my issue. Now there is "Could not initialize video chain." I am trying to use it with usb grabber to get video with HW acceleration. No luck for now. When I tried mplayer with -vo vdpau, I got green/purple video image only. This screenshot is from mpv:
  7. sorry tkaiser, my fault. I made a mistake, because nightly build I am using on OPi Zero, but on OPi Lite I am using Legacy Jessie 3.4.113. It was my fault. So my question was related to Legacy Jessie. Thanks
  8. Thanks, but I don't understand what should I put and where. Any idea please?
  9. thank you, I tried this, but for me it is not working says - Falling back to software decoding.
  10. I solved it: I placed new /boot/bin/orangepizero.bin file in my OPi. Anyway, I would like to know, if there is any command in cmd line for this (to set new value for TV output)? Now I am dealing with problem, that some part of my screen is cropped (I don't see few pixel top/left/right/bottom). Any idea please how to tweak it?
  11. Hello, I am experimenting with Orange Pi Zero and so I set different resolution with h3disp. Now TV connection via pin 9 is not working anymore. Any idea please how to reset to default setting? I tried many settings with SSH but it did not reenable my pin 9. Help is much appreciated.
  12. thanks friends for your posts. I will try to explain what I need to "accelerate" - in Raspberry Pi in VLC I have option to use openmaxil and when I choose it, VLC shows stream from my webcam "accelerated" (it is in fullscreen and without buttons and stream goes "directly via GPU" - so it is on the top of all other video/display layer channels, so I can't even make visible any other standard window until I close VLC). Now I would like to do the same with Armbian on OrangePi and somehow "accelerate" video stream from this webcam. So any idea please how to do the same "acceleration" with Armbian?
  13. Hello, I am using Armbian nightly legacy Jessie 3.4.113 build and it seems Mali drivers are included. Please, How should I set values in boot.cmd and boot.scr to mali HW acceleration work properly? I checked this site http://linux-sunxi.org/KernelArgumentsand tried to place something like "sunxi_ve_mem_reserve=64 cma=96 sunxi_g2d_mem_reserve=64 sunxi_fb_mem_reserve=32" to this file on setenv line but armbian fails to boot. I would like to use HW acceleration in VLC. Thank you.
  14. My findings: - if I freshly power opi on, I connect just via TTL (no hdmi display, no ssh) command "sudo shutdown -r now" restarts my opi successfully (if I powered on and tried hdmi/ssh in between, I must power cycle). If I try second reboot attempt after fresh power on, it shuts down opi. - if I am connected just via TTL and my hdmi display is connected, command "sudo shutdown -r now" shuts down my opi. - if I am connected via SSH (my hdmi display is connected or can be disconnected, command "sudo shutdown -r now" shuts down my opi. Strange. Here is a log when trying to reboot via ssh (it ends with shutdown): P.S. I don't see this log always via TTL putty, no idea why (I see it just from time to time). UPDATE: For any scenario hard reset reboot works always "reboot -f" [ 3.567118] sunxi_i2c_do_xfer()985 - [i2c0] incomplete xfer (status: 0x20, dev addr: 0x2b) [ 3.583076] sunxi_i2c_do_xfer()985 - [i2c0] incomplete xfer (status: 0x20, dev addr: 0x4c) [ 3.598989] sunxi_i2c_do_xfer()985 - [i2c0] incomplete xfer (status: 0x20, dev addr: 0x4d) [ 3.614794] sunxi_i2c_do_xfer()985 - [i2c0] incomplete xfer (status: 0x20, dev addr: 0x4e) [ 3.630616] sunxi_i2c_do_xfer()985 - [i2c1] incomplete xfer (status: 0x20, dev addr: 0x18) [ 3.646286] sunxi_i2c_do_xfer()985 - [i2c1] incomplete xfer (status: 0x20, dev addr: 0x19) [ 3.661856] sunxi_i2c_do_xfer()985 - [i2c1] incomplete xfer (status: 0x20, dev addr: 0x1a) [ 3.677337] sunxi_i2c_do_xfer()985 - [i2c1] incomplete xfer (status: 0x20, dev addr: 0x29) [ 3.692772] sunxi_i2c_do_xfer()985 - [i2c1] incomplete xfer (status: 0x20, dev addr: 0x2a) [ 3.708105] sunxi_i2c_do_xfer()985 - [i2c1] incomplete xfer (status: 0x20, dev addr: 0x2b) [ 3.723410] sunxi_i2c_do_xfer()985 - [i2c1] incomplete xfer (status: 0x20, dev addr: 0x4c) [ 3.738565] sunxi_i2c_do_xfer()985 - [i2c1] incomplete xfer (status: 0x20, dev addr: 0x4d) [ 3.753623] sunxi_i2c_do_xfer()985 - [i2c1] incomplete xfer (status: 0x20, dev addr: 0x4e) [ 3.768403] sunxi_wdt_init_module: sunxi WatchDog Timer Driver v1.0 [ 3.781178] sunxi_wdt_probe: devm_ioremap return wdt_reg 0xf1c20ca0, res->start 0x01c20ca0, res->end 0x01c20cbf [ 3.792652] sunxi_wdt_probe: initialized (g_timeout=16s, g_nowayout=0) [ 3.811524] wdt_enable, write reg 0xf1c20cb8 val 0x00000000 [ 3.823571] timeout_to_interv, line 167 [ 3.833577] interv_to_timeout, line 189 [ 3.843522] wdt_set_tmout, write 0x000000b0 to mode reg 0xf1c20cb8, actual timeout 16 sec [ 3.858884] device-mapper: ioctl: 4.22.0-ioctl (2011-10-19) initialised: dm-devel@redhat.com [ 3.874463] [cpu_freq] ERR:get cpu extremity frequency from sysconfig failed, use max_freq [ 3.895612] no blue_led, ignore it!   15. Hi asp, could you please post exact steps you have done? I plan to do the same with orange pi zero (AP+client). Many thanks.
  16. Hi there, when I run command "sudo shutdown -r now" (or sudo reboot) my orange pi shuts down instead of reboot. Why this happens and how to correct it please? Thank you. My armbian: Linux orangepilite 3.4.113-sun8i #10 SMP PREEMPT Tue Jan 24 02:57:18 CET 2017 armv7l GNU/Linux

    H3 SPI

hi there, please, I have orange pi lite and using spi to control ws2812b. My problem is, that firs led is green (when other are off), when I set all to blue first led is blue too, when all to green first is green, when all to red first is yellow. Any idea what is causing this issue? Or any idea how to leave first LED off completely rather than being green? Thanks. UPDATE: I found out GREEN is always in up (turned on) state for first LED in strip. So according to my opinion, final last data are somehow corrupted and therefore green part of first led is in "ON" state.
  18. Hi friends, I am using armbian on orangepi lite and it is brilliant! My orange pi zero is on the way. One question - sometimes I want to make wifi AP from my armbian and sometimes I want armbian to be wifi client. Now it connects successfully to my wifi as a client. I am looking for terminal commands to switch between modes (AP vs. client) on the fly. Any ideas how to do it? Ideally I would like to run two commands: - one command to act as wifi AP (with specified wifi name, password, etc.) - second command to act as wifi client (to connect to specific network with password, etc.) Any idea how to do it, please? P.S. LAN port (on orange pi zero) should always stay as client (in case wifi goes wrong to be able to simply connect via LAN cable).
  19. thanks @Igor! If I understand functionality of display managers good, It let's me to choose which desktop environment I want to see after login. But is there a way how to disable it temporarily, so I will be able to "recover" the same behaviour later as I have now (directly logs me in and shows desktop)?
  20. Hello, when I turn on my orangepi with armbian, it automatically logs me in and shows desktop. How can I please disable autologin and auto desktop? For example, on raspberry pi after boot I see just terminal with username and password, when I type these it logs me in and stays in terminal, and when I want dekstop environment I type startx and then I am in desktop. I would like to have the same behaviour on the orangepi (first headless after boot, I juust after then I should be able to login and choose to display desktop). Many thanks.
  21. hi there, I am trying to play /dev/video0 with mpv with vdpau (on Orangepi Lite). But it always fails with: Video filter chain: [in] 640x480 yuv420p[nv12] bt,601/limited CL=unknown <--- [out] ??? Falling back to software decoding. I tried vdpau in vlc but time is moving but I do not see any video. Any idea please?
  22. oh ok, thank you for clarification. I hoped that the same openmax is used here. I thought about compiling vlc with openmaxIL but it seems It does not make sense to do it.
  23. I can play video without hardware acceleration. But I would like to play it with hardware acceleration. So mentioned link is not my case.
