Look at my comment #133 - the command is meant to run inside the c-ray-1.1 directory after compilation. If you ran the benchmark at least once, the c-ray-mt binary should be found there.
Thanks, here are my results.
To run a command as administrator (user "root"), use "sudo <command>".
See "man sudo_root" for details.ron@amlogic-s905x:~$ echo performance | sudo tee /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor[sudo] password for ron:performanceron@amlogic-s905x:~$ wget http://www.phoronix-test-suite.com/benchmark-files/c-ray-1.1.tar.gz--2017-02-05 18:15:43-- http://www.phoronix-test-suite.com/benchmark-files/c-ray-1.1.tar.gzResolving www.phoronix-test-suite.com (www.phoronix-test-suite.com)... 23.111.154.110Connecting to www.phoronix-test-suite.com (www.phoronix-test-suite.com)|23.111.154.110|:80... connected.HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OKLength: 231074 (226K) [application/x-gzip]Saving to: ‘c-ray-1.1.tar.gz’c-ray-1.1.tar.gz 100%[===================>] 225.66K 302KB/s in 0.7s2017-02-05 18:15:44 (302 KB/s) - ‘c-ray-1.1.tar.gz’ saved [231074/231074]ron@amlogic-s905x:~$ tar xf c-ray-1.1.tar.gzron@amlogic-s905x:~$ cd c-ray-1.1/ron@amlogic-s905x:~/c-ray-1.1$ gcc -O3 -mcpu=cortex-a53 -o c-ray-mt c-ray-mt.c -lm -lpthread && ./c-ray-mt -t 32 -s 320x240 -r 8 -i sphfract -o output.ppmc-ray-mt v1.1Rendering took: 8 seconds (8244 milliseconds)ron@amlogic-s905x:~/c-ray-1.1$ cdron@amlogic-s905x:~$ ^Cron@amlogic-s905x:~$ -

Thanks Balbes150 for the valuable information on the cooling. I will be watching closely to see how you modify the cooling, and more importantly, the performance increase.
The only tangible effects that I am looking for, is how my servers perform. In other words, I am using my boxes (Amlogic S905X and Pine64) as Plex and Emby servers. Right now, they cannot transcode subtitles on the fly, it the cooling enhancements and therefore performance can cause my devices to transcode on the fly, it will be a real game changer.
Just my 2 cents.

S912 is a big.little setup so unless you can confirm the kernel supports heterogeneous multi-processing, it definitely won't make any difference.
Ok, thanks for that confirmation.

The ARM cores are the same Cortex A53, just S912 has more of them. So if software and codec supports parallel transcoding and the CPU doesn't overheat, it may work, but needs to be tested.
Thanks for your feed back. I see that you have one of the Amlogic S912 boxes, can you test Emby server and see how it works on your box?
thanks

I am running your Armbain images on my Amlogic S905 and 905X boxes, and they work great, especially for Plex and Emby servers. Of course, they do not have enough processing power to transcode on the fly. My question, would this S912 have more transcoding power than my S905 boxes??

Two test image (20170203) with different DE - XFCE and MATE.
I am downloading now, what will be the password to use with putty???
thanks.
Edit: Sorry, thought it was a new firmware, but I had already installed this one. Unfortunately, I could not get any password to work from putty on this version.
Edit 2: Sorry, did not look into the "test" folder, downloading it now........
thanks again

You can change max freq in cpufreqscale by edit
sudo nano /etc/default/cpufrequtils && sudo reboot
but I do not know, this will have any real effect(on performance level) or not
all supported governor and frequency step you can see by this command
$ cpufreq-info
Ran this command that you posted. >> sudo nano /etc/default/cpufrequtils && sudo reboot
and got this in the Nano window.
ENABLE=true
MIN_SPEED=0MAX_SPEED=2006000GOVERNOR=ondemandran this command >> $ cpufreq-infogot "command not found" -
Try this for a start:
echo 2000000 | sudo tee /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq
I copied and pasted it into my S905x using putty, but it did not do anything.

@clarkss12 You didn't test any higher frequencies, DUH!
How would I do that?? I thought it would do it by itself?

I tested your trial version on my X9 (X9 4K Amlogic S905X Android 6.0 Marshmallow 64Bit 2G/8G TV Box ), by installing Emby and Plex servers. I was playing 3 videos to see what the temps got to. My room ambient temp is around 74 degrees Fahrenheit. I have attached the logs from running the older version and your new test version.

To use this update with caution, it is possible to obtain destruction of the system.
OK, thanks.

I installed this version yesterday (had it installed before) S9xxx_4G_ICEWM_MATE_XFCE_LXDE_LXQT_20170122, and got it setup on my Amlogic S905X box, as my Plex and Emby server and it is working well. How ever it keeps showing that there are 50 updates to install, but it won't install them. I have tried several times, with different commands. I was running this version when it first came out and had no problem updating the upgrades.

Image update kernel from Hardkernel. Armbian_5.24_Vegas95_Ubuntu (the Test directory) note that these images can only run on a S905. The images that will be able to work on s905x s912 will be later (need to significantly patch the kernel). Features images-3.14.79. Problems with WiFi and sound. To change the screen resolution, you need to use a certain procedure.
1. remember marking the desired resolution in the file /boot/vegas95_init.sh
2. insertion of the selected permission to the file aml_autoscript.cmd (instead of the current parameter h_mode)
3. Precompiled script autostart system s905_autoscript. In this-you can select any standard solution available.
command
# mkimage -A arm -O linux -T script -C none -d s905_autoscript.cmd s905_autoscript
The existing problems are not working properly shutdown the TV box. After switching off, to enable, disable the power supply from the network.
As Docker is in the network repo Ubuntu, removed from the Assembly the old binaries. In-3.14.79 has support for Docker. Anyone can install it and use in this manner.
Installed it on my Beelink MiniMX3 (Amlogic S905), and it is working very well. I primarily use these boxes as Plex and Emby servers and it does that very well. Of course, these boxes do not have enough computing power to do any transcoding on the fly.
Edit: Verified audio does not work, did not test WiFi.

Here is my video of my X9 box running Balbes150's Ubuntu img, running on a microSD card.

My X9 Android TV box (Amlogic S905x) is running great from my 56 gig fast microSD card, but thinking about installing it on the EMMC.
Question, since my box is only 2gig/8gig, does that leave enough space to be functional?? Right now, I am merely using it as an Emby server. Before I commit, I don't want to find out that it does not have enough storage. Also, will I be able to use a computer and USB cable to reinstall the orginal firmware, perhaps using the Amlogic flash tool. I have swapped firmware on this box several times using the Amlogic flash tool for different versions of Android. This is an exact box as the Mini M8 S2, just branded different.
thanks

Found an interesting way to keep the Pine64 cool.
