clarkss12 got a reaction from balbes150 in Can I use a TV Box as a mini computer?
I have been using my $40 US Amlogic box running Ubuntu 16.04 for quite awhile as my Emby and Tvheadend servers, and it works very well.  Here are a couple of my videos showing my X9 (same as the Mini M8S II).  These boxes are Soooooo versatile, they run Linux, ArchLinux + kodi, LibreELEC, and of course Android (and a port of the Android TV OS).

I don't understand why a lot of these boardmakers made their boards with a rpi formfactor. Most RPi cases are realy small. I think a lot of these more powerful boards will run into thermal issues cause average joe thinks that it's a good idea to have his board in such a case.

hmm I would call my borad TrumPi and use a orange circuit board, of course with a claimed 68 pinheader whereas only 58 are connected...

My 1 st Micro computer as it was called then, took up the backseat of a 1966 Olds 442, it was a Altair 8800 kit a picked up at a yard sale in northwest Texas in 1977, I think.  I taught myself tiny basic on this. "writing" (really just copy code from magazines) text games.

The expansion of the section need to be run from another system (not from the running system). You can use Linux on a PC (not install,  run in LiveCD mode). You can run Armbian with a USB stick and run the extension on the TV console. By the way, many do not know, but if you have Armbian on the USB\SD card , you can perform all operations on unpacking and recording new images on the media box from Linux.

gparted does have a graphical user interface when you run that in a Linux PC. You must run that as root. Expand the partition with the mouse.
