Just for the Record, i have Ayufan´s Xenial-Mate-Rock64-Armhf Image running on a Z28 TVBox 1GbRam/8Gb Emmc....
  4. Some Time ago I bought a cheap Z28 TV Box fromGearbest for 27€. I was curious about this chip after I saw a Picture of the Rock64 here on Armbian. When I first connected the Box it only comes up with 720p Resolution, far away from 4K at all. Some other things happened, Rock64 was send to Devs and Developement seems to become more and more Stable, so it tried to check Ayufans Android Image on this Box. I got me the Android Tools and flashed the Image to the box on a Windows Machine . Adroid came up without Network, (as expected) but seeing this Image Booting made me thnking of trying the a Desktop Image on this Box. The Android Image can be flashed via Android Tools, but not the Linux Image. To make the Box boot from SDCard it has to be Set to Maskrom Mode. This could be easily done with the Android Tool. 1. Start the Android Tool on Windows 2. Go to Upgrade Firmware 3. Load some Firmware for this Box (the one from Ayufan or some of the originals..) 4. Plug a Male to Male USB Cable to the OTG Port of this Box, while Pressing the Reset Button for ca. 5s 5. Now go to "Erase Flash" , Done the Box is now in MaskRom Mode.. Just like always prepare a SD Card with an Image and watch Ubuntu comig up on this Cheapo. I am writing now from this Box and even this is an early Stage of Developement, it looks very promising. (Just found that "Take Screenshots" is not working...)
  5. It is the same Kernel and build with the Build-script last Weekend.
  6. From general public view I would suggest to freeze Developement of all Boards with BSP 3.XX.XX Kernel. New Boards should be only supported, when there is Mainline Support and Documentation Support by Vendors. There should be no Support of Boards with known Issues until they are solved by the Vendors. In this special Case, Rock64, this means that Developement should not start until DRAM/Gbe Issues are solved. No Support for TV-Boxes, as there is no Support by Vendors. But I think voting is the Best Solution. Regards
  7. I have just checked my OpiPC+ it is running fine and stable. . I think, there is some Problem with your Network. Regards

So the tricky part is above my skills, but I am going to connect some wires to the UART Pins to be prepared when the fun starts early next spring.

I must admit that I was excited when I first saw this board with an old Raspi Soundboard hooked on it. The RK3328 Specs sounded so good, that I could not resist buying a cheap TV Box, a Z28 for 27€ Shipping included from Gearbest. Now I can say I am healed. The Box is set down to 1280x720p Resolution, the Android Kernel is 3.10.104... I doubt that it is easy to get a Mainline Kernel with Hardware Video Acceleration running on it. The only real unique Feature of this Board I can see at this Moment is USB3. I will sit back and relax to see what is comming, my expectations are cut down and if the price is more than 30€ for the 1GB Board shipping included to Europe, I will not jump this Train. Regards
  12. Interesting, the I2S Board is for the early Raspberry Pis; the ones without the "+". So we will have one I2s Lane (two channels) and the cheap IS2 Boards with Sabre ES9023 and TI PCM5102A could be used. Looking forward to it. Regards
  13. Who is bringing us this Board? When it is orange pi , i hope there will be the 8 channel I2S interface... (just a Dream ). Btw, is there 8channel Audio out via HDMI on the TinkerBoard? Regards
  14. Tested it and it is working! Great!
  15. I have just build a new Image for my orange pi pc +2e (xenial desktop legacy kernel) and found the nand-sata-install script broken ek@orangepiplus2e:~$ sudo nand-sata-install [sudo] Passwort für ek: ls: Zugriff auf '/dev/nand*' nicht möglich: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden in fact i wanted to test the armbian-config
  16. I just build a Desktop Image for the OPi+2E and HDMI is working for me on a Medion MD20431 . BTW is there any work on Sound via HDMI? Regards
  17. Simply install another terminal. sudo apt-get install gnome-terminal will give you a copy paste console. I do not know why this terminals are installed on armbian Desktops Regards
  18. The answer to this question is quite simple. Without soldering you will not get any I2S output, because Dout, PA20 is used for a led. So in my opinion there is no need to activate this feature. The PC2 is a fantastic Board, if you use the Multichannel HDMI output with the legacy Kernel from Xulong. My PC2 is running as active Crossover and mpd as Streamer. None of the other Oranges support this feature.
  19. I wonder if the work is necessary because this Board is not really available. The RK is well supported by Linux and SBCs with Rockchip are the more expansiv ones... But in the End Armbian is a non Profit Thing, so supporting Boards is not depending on econnomic Reasons.
  20. This board seems tobe interesting, is it possible to buy it somewhere? Regards
  21. This Printer was never really supported by Linux at all. Take a look here. In case you find the Source of the mentioned Driver, you will have a chance to get it running. Regards
  22. What I found on the PC2 is, that it is capable of playing back 8 Channels with 96kHz@S32_LE, but when i turn to higher rates like 192kHz, Sound is "downmixed" to 2 Channels like o the H3. (S24_LE does not work at all)
  23. I am just taking a look the xenial Desktop image provided from "buddy" and i must admit i expectet less. What´s not working is setting the Display resolution , but running from a Samsung EVO, this System is very responsive. Using Firefox I am browsing the net by now and writing this Lines. As some of you know i am interested in Audio Things and I found that i get real 8 Channels of output via HDMI right out of the Box. (Not the downmixed Output like on the H3´s, perhaps some of the Gurus can take a look at the Drivers because the H3 is not that far away) This is interesting for Things like Openelec. Regards
  24. Did you check: speaker-test -D hw:1 -c 2 this should give you pink noise on the fronts Regards
