I confirm this bug. After updating orange pi zero to 4.14.15-sunxi it hangs occasionally.

USB audio is not usable with 4.x dev kernels on OPI Zero board.

I don't see any errors, but audio goes with scratchs.

 

Other usb devises works fine with 4.x dev.

USB audio works well with 3.x stable kernel.

And the only similar solution to use wifi at early level is to boot linux kernel with wifi support from SPI flash.
