  1. For stable eth in kernel 4.19, I had to apply patch below: --- meson-gxm-q200.dts 2018-12-19 21:26:56.048662939 +0800 +++ meson-gxm-q200-1.dts 2018-12-19 10:58:32.639104759 +0800 @@ -1197,7 +1197,7 @@ ethernet@c9410000 { compatible = "amlogic,meson-gx-dwmac", "amlogic,meson-gxbb-dwmac", "snps,dwmac"; reg = <0x0 0xc9410000 0x0 0x10000 0x0 0xc8834540 0x0 0x4>; - interrupts = <0x0 0x8 0x1>; + interrupts = <0x0 0x8 0x4>; interrupt-names = "macirq"; status = "okay"; clocks = <0xf 0x24 0xf 0x4 0xf 0xf>;
  2. What happened to 5.62 20181012 kernel 4.18.7? I need the non-desktop image.
  3. That's a pity. Was hoping to compare it with the s912, octacore vs octacore. Thanks for the info Sticking with A5X Max rk3328 4gb kernel 4.4.143 as my daily driver, since 4.19 and 4.20 doesn't boot for me
  4. Anyone know how to boot this from sdcard? https://www.gearbest.com/tv-box-mini-pc/pp_590115.html Scichion V99 Star
  5. Seems that I ran out of memory watching a movie online on firefox. Have to get me one of those boxes with 3Gb ram then Update: turns out eth still had intermittent issues too. Going back to 4.18 kernel A fix? https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/10712159
  6. Currently running Armbian_5.67_Rk3328-tv_Ubuntu_bionic_default_4.4.143_desktop_20181203 on A5X Max - RK3328 4gb ram At the moment top cpu freq is 1.3GHz booting with rk3328-evb.dtb Using dtc I had a look at rk3328-rock64 and it had an entry for 1.5GHz, so I copy pasted that into rk3328-evb and successfully booted. cpufreq-info does show max freq as 1.5GHz but unfortunately unable to switch to it. Any pointers to make it happen?
  7. Armbian_5.67_Aml-s9xxx_Ubuntu_bionic_default_4.19.6_desktop_20181205 on BM8 Pro s912 octacore 2gb ram Ethernet working at 1Gb. Everything pretty zippy and stable so far. Seems to be the fastest among the s9xxx boxes I've got.
  8. I am using the main one, have not tried the wifi version. As far as I can tell, the android drivers are not involved in the armbian boot up
  9. I have the same box. Currently running balbes Armbian_5.67_Rk3328-tv_Ubuntu_bionic_default_4.4.143_desktop_20181117 with rk3328-evb.dtb Boots off SD card to desktop, ethernet & sound works but not wifi
  10. 5.67 20181117 seems to run better for me, let's see how it goes Put the opp-1512000000 section from rock64 into evb, managed to get cpufreq-info to show 1.51GHz but sysbench does not show any improvement. DEV_NEXT with rk3328-rock64.dtb boots to desktop but no ethernet. Tried replacing eth sections from evb into rock64, eth was not even detected.
  11. Tried 5.67 20181117, thanks, but still having problems with x2goclient over eth. Sticking with 5.60 for now.
  12. Running 5.64 for now, having some issues with printer foomatic-rip-hplip
  13. Got A5X Max 4GB ram running full desktop with Armbian_5.64_Rk3328-tv_Ubuntu_bionic_default_4.4.143_desktop_20181019 & rk3328-evb.dtb , no wifi though (no biggie, eth still works) 1. When running mpv test video, it goes fullscreen and I lose keyboard control 2. Have to manually select 1st default sink for sound to come out of hdmi. Have to find where the config is to make it default to that. 3. Seems a bit sluggish with only 1.3GHz top cpu frequency. Looking to find ways to tweak that. Maybe when the xorg gpu driver comes out that will get better. Overall still highly usable, thanks @balbes150
  14. Thanks. However on my s905 box using meson-gxbb-p201.dtb, it is brcmfmac43362-sdio.txt that is failing to load
  15. Anybody has a way to bump up the cpu speed? cpufreq-set -f doesn't seem to do anything real (I've read it's faked)
  16. Yes got sound back still no wifi Thanks, appreciate your work

  18. Thanks. Must have missed it on my first read through. All good now.
  19. Do all the TV box img have the same mac address for eth0? All of mine seem to be the same and I think that is why x2goclient/X is going wonky on me.
  20. Just noticed that in uEnv.ini there is a line: dtb_name=/dtb/meson-****.dtb On my S905 box, seems that if I don't point this to the correct dtb, it won't boot. This on 5.60 USB image. I haven't managed to boot from sdcard yet.
  21. Thanks to all who replied. While I get the gist of it all, seems to me to be too many moving parts to try. So I guess I'll just wait for future image drops here. What we have here is already working quite nicely for my purposes.
  22. Does anyone know how close are we to getting GPU hardware accelerated drivers for X? All my googling did not get me any information that I could understand. Its speedy enough at the moment, I just want to see how much faster 2D rendering would be. Thanks for any info
  23. He he sorry about that, it's been a slow day. Anyway tried it and it boots to desktop alright but i cannot use it because x2goclient segfaults after a while Guess I'll stick with 5.60 for a while yet
