  1. Hi, since many month I did not used my BPi M2+ that previously worked with the 5.14 image since not working with the new one 5.25 (sha signature checked = good server image of Debian Jessie downloaded with identical signature). I prepared my SD with the 5.25 armbian image (on the previous 5.14 SD, bad idea) and boot it (with USB/TTL cable and saw in Putty) but it display a message telling me that it does not find ethernet (and even if I insert a RJ45 connected to my router and reboot it this give me the same message). After what it display trying to use pxe (many lines tried some solutions) and finally stop with a prompt "=>". How can I boot completely this armbian 5.25 image on my BPi M2+ without it stop during boot process ? Sincerely thanks. Miguipda ;-)
  2. Hallo, In my mind i want to build a cluster with 5 bpi m2+. Purpose: Home-server- Storage off all media files/also using cointainers/Raid*** - Back-up for Win/Linux based pc in home. Media-server(KODI)- Use at first one screen/future >more -access by internet Back-up -Cloudservice (for example BOX) Extra - NAS ***(5 bpi * 2 usb can be up to 10 usb-harddisk off 2GB or more. I just started with bpi. But this what i have in mind. So 20 GB or more can be set to Raid0/Raid5 Every information is welcome. Also about wich Os can work the best etc.. With kindly regards, Henk
  3. Is there any real-time patch support for the Banana Pi M2+? Thank You
  4. Hi there, Recently you helped me to setup a WiFI AP on Armbian and a bananapim2p board: https://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/2395-access-point-mode-with-ap6212-on-armbian-521/ The current problem I am facing: the dhd module on armbian 5.25 does not on my bananapim2p boards. To be precise: I have one bananapi m2p where the dhd module loads perfectly on armbian 5.25, I created an image of this board's emmc and flashed the emmc of two different m2p boards. The dhd config file looks like: cat /etc/modprobe.d$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/dhd.conf options dhd op_mode=2 firmware_path=/lib/firmware/ap6212/fw_bcm43438a0_apsta.bin With the modprobe configuration the m2p boards hang on boot (raising network interface ...) and boot perfectly if a remove the module configuration. I am also not able to manually load the dhd module: [ 363.081480] dhd_wifi_platform_load: Enter [ 363.978718] dhd_conf_set_chiprev: chip=0xa9a6, chiprev=1 [ 363.978999] dhd_conf_set_conf_path_by_nv_path: config_path=/lib/firmware/ap6212/config.txt [ 363.979090] dhd_conf_read_config: Ignore config file /lib/firmware/ap6212/config.txt [ 363.982876] dhd_attach(): thread:dhd_watchdog_thread:57e started [ 363.983230] dhd_attach(): thread:dhd_dpc:57f started [ 363.983286] dhd_dpc_thread: set dpc_cpucore 0 from config.txt [ 363.983559] dhd_attach(): thread:dhd_rxf:580 started [ 363.983637] dhd_deferred_work_init: work queue initialized [ 363.984789] dhd_conf_read_config: Ignore config file /lib/firmware/ap6212/config.txt [ 363.984862] dhd_conf_set_fw_name_by_chip: firmware_path=/lib/firmware/ap6212/fw_bcm43438a1.bin [ 363.984915] dhdsdio_download_firmware: set use_rxchain 0 [ 363.984952] dhdsdio_download_firmware: set txglomsize 40 [ 363.987065] dhdsdio_download_code_file: Open firmware file failed /lib/firmware/ap6212/fw_bcm43438a1.bin [ 363.987123] _dhdsdio_download_firmware: dongle image file download failed [ 363.987251] dhd_bus_start: failed to download firmware /lib/firmware/ap6212/fw_bcm43438a1.bin [ 363.987300] dhdsdio_probe: dhd_bus_start failed [ 363.987413] dhd_wlfc_deinit():3301, Already disabled! 5. Hi! I thought, I might save some energy by using a Sinovoip Banana Pi M2+EDU (it is like the M2+ but no WiFi and no display (EDIT: I mean 8 GB EMMC) and 512MiB DRAM) instead of an Atom N270. Here at armbian.com/download I only found "legacy" 3.4 images, which work nicely... I wonder, if it is a good idea to stick somelhing into public internet with a 3.4 kernel... So I tried to install lhe latest archlinuxarm kernel tar ball with a git clone of u-boot (using Sinovoip_BPI_M2_plus_defconfig) and it boots nicely, but: 1. There is no eth0 (so it is much safer from the public inet, than I like) and 2. there is no cpufreq (so it gets quite warm and i can't even find temperature sensors in sysfs). Should I continue to use my trusty old Atom? Or is 3.4 safe enough? Are there security fixes within short time after the CERT alert? Btw: Did somebody find the 4th pair of USB data lines somewhere on that board (according to the schematics: CON1, footprint: SIP2-254)? Is it possibly on the bottom side (the bottom side silk screen shows frames only (around the parts), I think...)? Thx. Bye Arne
  6. Hi all, I'm new here, and first of all I want to greet you. Last week I got a brand new Banana PI M2+, and tried to install the latest armbian Image on SD card. So far so good, but the M2+ is not booting from SD card. Except I short press the uBoot button followed by the reset button. This means I only get the board booted after a power cycle, if I press the uBoot button before. Then I tried to boot the board from NAND, but it is the same. It only boots from NAND, if I press the uBoot button before. (Installed to NAND before, of course) To verfy that I do not have any hardware issue, I downloaded a original Banana PI M2+ Image from the Banana-pi site, and installed it to SD card and also to NAND, and in both cases, the Board is booting perfectly. So I hope you can help me with this... Thanks a lot -Wanninger

  8. Hi , I'm an beginner.I have M2+ and want to access GPIO by Python. Please suggest me that how to do that. thank you.
  9. First time poster, hopefully I'll get along with all of you! I am currently trying to connect a DS18(b)20 cable to my Banana Pi M2+, which is running Jessie Desktop. I connected the 3,3 V to Pin 1, GND to Pin 6 and Data to Pin 7, as well as the recommended 4,7k Ohm resistor between them. Since, as I should have mentioned, I am an absolute beginner (literally just got into this a few days ago), I used a German tutorial for this, which told me to enter the following into my command module: After which my /sys/bus folder shows a "w1" folder, which it does. However, the cable itself cannot be found. After some tinkering, I found that w1-therm does not seem to be found. Is there any way to remedy this situation? Even just a hint would be greatly appreciated, as this is my first project with Armbian and I wish to go through with it instead of changing OSes. Cheers
  10. Hi all, First of all, a big thanks for making Armbian work, the work you guys have done is incredible. I have a BPI M2+ board and I have a problem getting the serial communication to work both ways. I am using the latest image that is available to download on the Armbian website version 5.20, Jessie server, 3.4.112 kernel. According to the board fex file (found here) the configuration for the uart2 is: [uart2] uart_used = 1 uart_port = 2 uart_type = 4 uart_tx = port:PA00<2><1><default><default> uart_rx = port:PA01<2><1><default><default> uart_rts = port:PA02<2><1><default><default> uart_cts = port:PA03<2><1><default><default> Which in turn maps to GPIO pins 11 and 12 according to their documentation My problem is that I can receive serial signals to the banana pi board from a a different source but nothing gets through the other way. In summary: Armbian TX (Pin 13) --> RX other device XXX - Doesn't work Armbian RX (Pin 11) <-- TX other device WORKS The device options are the following: root@bananapim2plus:~# stty -a -F /dev/ttyS2 speed 9600 baud; rows 0; columns 0; line = 0; intr = ^C; quit = ^\; erase = ^?; kill = ^U; eof = ^D; eol = <undef>; eol2 = <undef>; swtch = <undef>; start = ^Q; stop = ^S; susp = ^Z; rprnt = ^R; werase = ^W; lnext = ^V; flush = ^O; min = 1; time = 0; -parenb -parodd -cmspar cs8 hupcl -cstopb cread clocal -crtscts -ignbrk -brkint -ignpar -parmrk -inpck -istrip -inlcr -igncr icrnl ixon -ixoff -iuclc -ixany -imaxbel -iutf8 opost -olcuc -ocrnl onlcr -onocr -onlret -ofill -ofdel nl0 cr0 tab0 bs0 vt0 ff0 isig icanon iexten echo echoe echok -echonl -noflsh -xcase -tostop -echoprt echoctl echoke I have tried the exact same connection setup with one of the latest ubuntu images (headless) that are available from the Banana Pi org and I can have duplex communication without any issues. Finally, I used the armbianmonitor program to collect logs which may be found here Thank you in advance for your help.
  11. I have BPI-M2+ shutdown -P now or poweroff does not power off the board Board is just halted and fan is still spinning Anyway to power off the board completely?
  12. Hi, I just installed ARMBian on my Banana Pi M2+ (BPi-M2+) and think to do the same on my router Banana Pi R1 (BPi-R1). As the WiringPi is created for GPIOs from Raspberry Pi, I presume there are perhaps not the same on those Banana Pi boards. But I discovered there are many Wiring libraries for this GPIO use on the BPi. Does somebody give back its knowledge to know which Wiring library is the best for those two Banana Pi boards ? - WiringBP - WiringOP - MikuPi I want to use them for reading Temperature and Humidity (DHT22) and a sonar sensor (HC-SR04). And further with a NFC rader. Sincerely thanks for your help.
  13. Hello all. I am using bananapi M2+. I need UART0 for my development. But while booting, it transmits debug (u-boot) information. 14. Hello, i use my BananaPI M2 Plus as a home router. i have eth0, eth0.10 (vlan 10), eth0.1111 (vlan 1111) on eth0 i have External IP from ISP by DHCP (original MAC ADDRESS) on eth0.10 i have internal IP (192.168.10.1) (different - generated MAC ADDRESS) on eth0.1111 have external IP from ISP for settopboxes. (cloned MAC ADDRESS from settopbox) my issue is that 192.168.10.1 is unreachable after reboot. Have no idea why. i discover that if i switch eth0.10 to promiscuous mode (tcpdump -c 10 -i eth0.10) after reboot it works. any idea to make it less dirty? thank you.
  15. Hello to all! I have banana pi m2+ with Allwinner H3. OS: ARMBIAN Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 3.4.112-sun8i I program linux kernel driver. And I am can't run R_UART. I write to register any value, and read value alway zero. It seems that APB0 bus is not cloked. Or device R_UART reset asserted. What I do wrong? Sincerely, Dmitriy.
  16. Hi all, I'm new about u-boot and arm device. I was learning how to build u-boot for banana pi m2+. Where I can get working u-boot defconfig for that device? Thanks
  17. Hi guys, I use last armbian on banana pi m2 plus, how to set mac address randomly? In raspbian, it only remove /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules, and reboot, then the raspberry pi will get difference mac address. But in armbian, it seems not working. thanks for anyone help.
  18. Hi guys, I installed last armbian on Banana Pi M2+, and execute nand-sata-install.sh to boot armbian from emmc, it works fine. 19. Hi, I received a Banana Pi M2+ board on which I installed ARMBian. Their is only one problem for sound. Audio out is only available on HDMI. As I will use this board with no display, keyboard and mouse connection how may I get this board playing sound ? Two ways but I do not know which one is possible : 1) does it exist an HDMI to sound 3.5mm jack adapter ? 2) which USB bluetooth dungle works perfectly on ARMBian I may use to pair this board to a portable bluetooth speaker ? Sincerely thanks. Have a nice day. Miguipda ;-)
  20. According to this post in broken english by famous user @sinovoip Banana Pi M2+ chose a partially incompatible pin mapping for the 40 pin GPIO header. They seem to use Pin# | GPIO | Function | Pin# | GPIO | Function --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- 01 | --- | SYS_3.3V | 02 | --- | VCC_5V 03 | A-12 | TWI0_SDA | 04 | --- | VCC_5V 05 | A-11 | TWI0_SCK | 06 | --- | GND 07 | A-06 | PWM1 | 08 | A-13 | UART3_TX/SPI1_CS 09 | --- | GND | 10 | A-14 | UART3_RX/SPI1_CLK 11 | A-01 | UART2_RX | 12 | A-16 | UART3_CTS/SPI1_MISO 13 | A-00 | UART2_TX | 14 | ---- | GND 15 | A-03 | UART2_CTS | 16 | A-15 | UART3_RTS/SPI1_MOSI 17 | ---- | SYS_3.3V | 18 | C-04 | --- 19 | C-00 | SPI0_MOSI | 20 | ---- | GND 21 | C-01 | SIP0_MISO | 22 | A-02 | UART2_RTS 23 | C-02 | SPI0_CLK | 24 | C-03 | SPI0_CS 25 | ---- | GND | 26 | C-07 | --- 27 | A-19 | TWI1_SDA | 28 | A-18 | TWI1_SCK 29 | A-07 | --- | 30 | ---- | GND 31 | A-08 | --- | 32 | L-02 | --- 33 | A-09 | --- | 34 | ---- | GND 35 | A-10 | --- | 36 | L-04 | --- 37 | A-16 | --- | 38 | A-21 | --- 39 | ---- | GND | 40 | A-20 | --- And that's what all Orange Pi use: That means GPIO definitions in fex file (provided by famous 'Team BPi') are wrong and at least it would explain why I failed a few weeks ago reading out 1-Wire slaves since GPIO pin 37 is connected to PA16 instead of PA20. Their fex file still does not reflect these 'findings' (a hardware manufacturer being surprised that his own pin mappings are different than intended? Or just the usual 'we don't give a shit about documentation or correct hardware description'?) and some other changes let me believe that the best idea is to drop Armbian support for this board (eg. audio defined as active but there is no audio out, now the redefined audio_pa_ctrl to share the same pin as the recovery key and so on -- you can't trust their way to describe the hardware)

  23. hi i have installed armbain on microsd card on banana pi m2+. Pulseaudio via pavucontrol recognized the sound card. Every seems to be ok. But when i tried play radio via rythmbox or play you tube audio voice is very interruped. it does not work in fact, because interruption are very often..... the same problem is with images provident by banana pi team. Only Raspbian MATE images works out of box.
