  1. Hi! On my Banana Pi PRO, i installed this «Armbian_5.00_Bananapi_Debian_jessie_4.4.1» but applications report 'no soundcards found'. I did the apt-get upgrade for 5.01 but still same problem.
  2. I have a "Banana PRO" One USB disk, 2TB with three partitions in ext4, the first partition is mounted (hdb1), the other two are not mounted. One USB disk, 4TB with a single ext4 partition mounted (hdc1). One SATA SSD disk with a single ext4 partition unmounted (hda1). Several aesthetic considerations: After the upgrade, reboot and login, the welcome screen and 100% battery!!! Hurrah!!! It seems that the MMC is 9% occupancy and ... oh! my hdb disk has only one partition? ah no, only reads hdb1. And the other two disks? I have two mounted partitions but only shows one. Turn off the system with the poweroff order and boot from the power button again, the battery is down to 97%? 30 minutes later still 97% ... I think we will have to discharge the battery to calibrate. It is a bit ugly to show the battery charge on two lines. ____ | __ ) __ _ _ __ __ _ _ __ __ _ | _ \ / _` | '_ \ / _` | '_ \ / _` | | |_) | (_| | | | | (_| | | | | (_| | |____/ \__,_|_| |_|\__,_|_| |_|\__,_| Welcome to ARMBIAN Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 4.4.1-sunxi System load: 0.10 Up time: 2 min Memory usage: 4 % of 997Mb IP: 192.168.187.89 CPU temp: 38°C Usage of /: 9% of 15G storage/: 88% of 1.8T Battery: 9 7% charging Last login: Sat Feb 13 01:49:50 2016 from remote.intranet root@mybanana:~#
  3. I'm using latest armbian with kernel 4.3.3 and got some problem: I have some usb-drives that should be mounted at boot via fstab. But sometimes they are not mounted at boot, after restart they mount normally. Never had problems with same fstab, only with kernel 4.3.3 it sometimes failed to mount. Seen same behaviour with bananian with 4.3-kernel, so maybe it has to do something with this kernel? Maybe some usb modules didn't load before mounting fstab? But i'm linux noob, so i dont know what i can do... Some suggestions?
  4. Hardware: Banana Pi Pro. The Android is based on Linux. Android very well plays Internet video HTML5. Therefore hardware resources allow to play Internet video HTML5. Bananian and Armbian doesn't play Internet video HTML5. Please help! How to play Internet video HTML5 on Bananian or Armbian? Someone did it? What results?
  5. Hi, I'm trying to get pygame working on Banana Pi / Banana Pro (with LVDS display) using the armbian 4.5 CLI images, but I'm unable to succeed (I think I'm missing fbturbo). I tried to install the basic desktop following armbian guide, but pygame still is not working. A little help on this one would be very appreciated, thanks !
  6. On a Banana PRO with Debian Jessie I installed the lightweight desktop and all is more or less usable except the web browsing. I been using Iceweasel and Epiphany Browser (I can find Midori on the included repositories) but are completely unusable. I suppose that images are using the philosophy of "Disabled all memory reservations for GPU" Is a problem about the dedicated RAM to the graphics engine? How I can change this memory split? Thanks in advance.
  7. Hi, Recently while I was using the banana pro, it locked itself up and I had to manually pull out the power. And after that, it cannot boot anymore with armbian or bananian, the red light turned on and thats it, no more activities. :-( But with lemaker's oficial image it can boot up normally. What could be the problem? Do I have a faulty hardware? Thanks!
  8. Good night to everyone. I'm so desperate to boot any image in existance on my BPro, so i need Your help. I've tried a lot of images (few examples below), but none of them worked. bananian-1504.img bananian-1508.img Lubuntu_For_BananaPro_v1412.img Armbian_4.2_Bananapi_Debian_jessie_4.1.6.raw My SD card is: KINGMAX microSDHC (class 10) 16G I've tried several approaches: Just: dd bs=1M if=image.raw of=/dev/sdd With partitions: 1. fdisk /dev/sdd 2. created new DOS label ("o") 3. created new primary partition 1 (2048, +75M) 4. addded new primary partition 2 (155648, +3G) 5. applied changes ("w") 6. dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdd bs=1K count=1023 seek=1 7. mkfs.vfat /dev/sdd1 8. mkfs.ext4 /dev/sdd2 9. dd bs=1M if=imafe.raw of=/dev/sdd2 None of them worked. I've tried also on my Win7 via "ImageWriter" - same result. It might seem that my board is broken, but I can successfully boot an Android image without any issue. Errors: One time i managed to get to TFTP section, but it always gave me "Loading: T T T" no matter of my actions. Thanks in advance.

  10. I've been trying out the latest version (4.3) of armbian on my Banana Pro and I noticed that the power button does no work as expected (apparently pressing it results in a hard reset). It looks like the OS can see the power button but I can't find a way to receive the button pressed event, the OS always halts first. Did anyone find a way to get the power and reset buttons to work?
  11. Hello, I'd like to use I2S output on my A20, I can see on armbian website but I have no idea on how to activate the HW configuration. I tried to simply plug i2s input and output and type aplay -l but the system can't see any soundcard Can you please help ? Cheers
  12. Is possible with the last version of Debian to have internal Wi-Fi and Ethernet working simultaneously on Banana PRO? I want to try some "bonding" network benchmarks. Thanks.
  13. What module should I load to get SPI working on 4.x kernel image? My usual suspect spi_bcm2708 is not available. I once used it on Banana Pi M2 from other manufacturer (SinoVOIP?) with Raspbian, now on Banana Pro I'm stuck with not working SPI.
  14. Dear Igor, I want to compile a kernel for banana pro, there is an error. Show you how to fix it? Preferably with the new kernel. PS Sorry for my English
  15. Hi, i tried to use wlan0. I added an "ap6210" in /etc/modules. I added in /etc/network/interfaces auto wlan0 allow-hotplug wlan0 iface wlan0 inet dhcp wpa-ap-scan 1 wpa-scan-ssid 1 wpa-ssid mywlanssid wpa-psk andthepassword During loading i see two lines about ap6210 INFO Loading Module 6210 (or similarly) Fatal Module Ap6210 not found I wonder, how can I add the needed files? I am using this Image: http://www.igorpecovnik.com/2014/09/07/banana-pi-debian-sd-image/ Debian wheezy 4.1.2 In the discription is a hint, that everything should available. Many thanks in advanced for an hint. Im not very involved in linux. Regards, Timbers
  16. Hi Igor! I'm running your Image on BananaPi and BananaPro and I want to use the 7" Lemaker LCD... Image-Version: 3.2 Kernel 3.4.108 Wheezy How do I switch the script.bin-file? Do I have to change the symbolic link like: ln -s /boot/bin/bananapipro.bin /boot/script.bin In /boot/bin are all script.bin files, but the filesize of the BananaPro BIN-files are identical: 50516 bananapi.bin 50580 bananapilcd7.bin 50612 bananapipro.bin 50612 bananapiprolcd7.bin The original BIN-files from Lemaker have a different size too: 50972 banana_pi_7lcd.bin 50564 banana_pro_7lcd.bin Did you make any changes in the BIN-files? Can I use the BIN-Files from Lemaker? Thanks. Steffen
  17. Hi, I have installed Wheesy 3.4.108 on my Banana Pro. connected to it using SSH from xterm on my linux box, did various housekeeping, set up user squeeze Installed logitech media server works OK Installled Squeezelite ---- needed to set up alsa, ran sudo alsamixer, Alsamixer ran OK but when I hit Fkeys on host machine to select various alsa menus, alsamixer terminates and drops back to Banana pro CLI, obviosly F key keybindings are not what alsamixer expects. Fails under both xterm and putty and on two linux host systems. What do I do to make banana pro use the Function keys F1-F6 to work as alsa requires? I note that there are lots of problems about this on Google (Function keys under ssh), but cannot find a working solution for this case. Help would be graterfully received thansk, Patrick Solution, It was as easy as:- On the Banana Pro ssh CLI enter TERM=xterm All the Function keys in Alsamixer now work correctly Duh! P
  18. I'm considering buying a Banana Pro, and I assumed I could just install a standard version of Debian Jessie directly from the official installer according to this and this, albeit without graphics or audio support. But then I came across this page and I'm not quite sure I understand the differences between Igor's images and regular a Debian installation. Is it the just the option to choose sunxi/4.0.5 kernel, some (or rather, a lot of) tweaks and scripts and drivers for misc components (IR, LVDS, etc)? I plan to use it as a headless server, what would be the advantages of running Igor's images vs a regular install? Also, on a separate question, is there any other board you people would recommend if I want to run a as pure as possible Debian installation?
  19. I obtain an "Authentication token manipulation error" on Banana Pro Debian 3.0 jessie 4.0.4 when I try to change the rot password in the first run. Any help? Thanks
  20. Hi Igor, first of all I want to thank you for your amazing work. It's quite a huge thing you have here. I have the Problem, that I can't get the wifi module on my Banana pro working, both in wheezy and jessie with kernel 3.4 with the image from 21.5.. I added ap6210 to /etc/modules, but wifi chip doesn't power up. Any idea what could cause the problem? I Attached a log from my boot in case you'd like to take a look Greetings Jonas boot-log_jessie.txt
  21. used your script to make rootfs on SATA device but it doesn't boot up. I just modified your script: if [[ $KERNEL == *"3.4"* ]]; then sed -e 's,root=\/dev\/mmcblk0p1,root=/dev/'"$DESTPART"',g' -i /boot/boot.cmd mkimage -C none -A arm -T script -d /boot/boot.cmd /boot/boot.scr else sed -e 's,root=\/dev\/mmcblk0p1,root=/dev/'"$DESTPART"',g' -i /boot/uEnv.txt sed -e 's,root=\/dev\/mmcblk0p1,root=/dev/'"$DESTPART"',g' -i /boot/boot.cmd if [ -f /boot/boot.cmd ]; then mkimage -C none -A arm -T script -d /boot/boot.cmd /boot/boot.scr fi fi # change fstab sed -e 's/mmcblk0p1/sda1/g' -i /mnt/etc/fstab sed -i "s/data=writeback,//" /mnt/etc/fstab mkdir -p /mnt/media/mmc echo "/dev/mmcblk0p1 /media/mmc ext4 defaults 0 0" >> /mnt/etc/fstab echo "/media/mmc/boot /boot none bind 0 0" >> /mnt/etc/fstab fi to Kernel 4.0.4 but it doesn't help as well. It is not possible for R4.0.4 to boot from sata at all?, or making more changes to the script could be possible? Thank you very much Igor. I appreciate much your work. BTW I want to share with you/other that using kernel 4.0.4 the ethernet speed (696Mbits/s) increased a lot, compared with the 3.4.107 (412Mbits/s) acting the bananapi pro like as server (-s) testing with iperf. This kernel has "something" which it works more effizient. I checked the dmseg for 4.0.4 and is free of errors. All what I need works (SATA/Eth) and it works, until now, very stable. Regards Jobenvil
  22. I don't know if this is normal. Sorry if this a stupid question, :huh: but I don't know why there are inside of the /boo/bin directory a bananapi.bin and bananapipro.bin but on the /boot directory the image target the bananapi.bin instead of bananapipro.bin. Board: banana pi pro; debian wheezy 4.04.4 (igor image) shows: root@bananapi:/boot# ls -ltr total 12852 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 5030568 May 21 21:59 vmlinuz-4.0.4-bananapi -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1788788 May 21 21:59 System.map-4.0.4-bananapi -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 95973 May 21 21:59 config-4.0.4-bananapi lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 28 May 21 22:31 zImage -> /boot/vmlinuz-4.0.4-bananapi drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 May 21 22:31 dtb -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1476 May 21 22:31 boot.cmd lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 May 21 22:31 script.bin -> /boot/bin/bananapi.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1548 May 21 22:31 boot.scr -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 6220856 May 21 22:31 boot.bmp drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 May 21 22:31 bin root@bananapi:/boot# cd bin root@bananapi:/boot/bin# ls -ltr total 660 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 50928 May 21 22:31 orangepi.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 52608 May 21 22:31 micro.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 52616 May 21 22:31 lime.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 53480 May 21 22:31 lime2.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 51012 May 21 22:31 lamobo-r1.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 46360 May 21 22:31 cubietruck.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 43724 May 21 22:31 cubieboard.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 46184 May 21 22:31 cubieboard2.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 50612 May 21 22:31 bananapiprolcd7.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 50612 May 21 22:31 bananapipro.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 50580 May 21 22:31 bananapilcd7.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 50516 May 21 22:31 bananapi.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 45936 May 21 22:31 aw-som-a20.bin Is this normal?
  23. Hi Igor, after trying and failing totally with Bananian etc. I found your images. So I installed the Jessie image 21.5.15 / 3.4.107 on my BananaPro which seemed to boot up somehow. I can ping the BananaPro fine but can't login via SSH. The SSH connection simply times out, even after rebooting the BPro. Do you or anyone else know what to do? Thanks!
  24. Ok - first, i'm a noob, - second, I am in over my head. I am attempting to install Plex on my banana Pro - which i did. Up and working just fine. http://www.htpcguides.com/install-plex-media-server-on-banana-pi-with-bananian/ The issue that i'm having is that I am having trouble mapping/mounting a drive. I am using this command but get an error: mount –t cifs //networkip/share /local/linux/folder –o username=usernameonwindowsmachine, password=passwordforwindowsmachine I put in: "mkdir /mnt/nas" - and that works. When I type everything out, it looks like this: mount –t cifs //192.168.1.42/mnt /nas –o username=321barnes,password=Password this does not work... Any guidance on this?
