  1. I was trying to route my audio from HDMI to the 3.5mm stereo jack. Tried playing with various knobs on alsamixer (like what you could do on the Raspberry Pi), but couldn't get the audio to switch. Looking into the DTS, it seemed like there was consideration made for analog audio ( e.g. analog-amplifier). Was this ever working?

Just running basic ... apt-get update && apt-get upgrade ... upon initial install, and it fails with "failed to fetch" (404) from whatever apt.armbian.com mirror it selects (of 2 or 3 observed). Held it back with apt-mark, removed it, and built from source using deb-src. Doesn't seem to be any problems or issues running htop built from deb-src, so, not sure why its needed in the Armbian source repositories ???
  3. Hello, starting at Level 0 here. guess I'm just looking for a point in the right direction. want to learn how to install updates. (the short version) the long version is, I spent several hours learning I was burning armbian for my brand new libre H5 onto a Sandisk Xc V2 (oops) to re-read the instructions for the I don't know howmanith time before I noticed the detail about v2 cards are having a hard time being supported. Finally it is up and running I'm happy to say I'm currently using it which is a step in the right direction, but as I am using it to look up youtube videos to update firefox I realize I don't have audio so now I'm down a different path trying to update the driver for HDMI so I can get audio. If this rambling is inappropriate let me know I won't do it again. I have Never used a forum before (other than research) and I'm stuck.
  4. I'm using the "Armbian 22.11.1 Lepotato jammy 5.19.17 xfce desktop" image which comes with lightdm windows manger and wayland xserver. I want to use https://github.com/debauchee/barrier but it does not support wayland, so I want to switch to xorg. So far I've tried installing xorg using apt and adding the following line to /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf xserver-command=Xorg but when I do sudo systemctl restart lightdm the display manager hangs forever with blank screen and blinking cursor.
  5. Armbian keeps showing yellow/green/blue/green-blue screens instead of the login menu. It will show the Armbian booting screen and the terminal for a second then when it should show the user login, it doesn't. I have used it properly before, but after a restart it starts doing this.

  7. I have a bunch of these boards and a few friends that would like to use them. I am having problems getting UART on the GPIO to work even using Libre Computers Wiring tool. Is there any info on getting Armbian Device Tree Overlay to work with the potato? I really need UART on the GPIO. CAN0 would be a very helpful creature comfort but if i cannot get UART to work properly i have extremely dwindling odds of getting CAN0 to function properly. Any info that can point me in the right direction is welcome.
  8. I have just downloaded the latest version of Armbian and when I power on my potato there is only a solid red, and solid blue light. I thought it was my micro SD card but I installed Ubuntu onto the same micro SD and the potato booted up fine with a green light and flashing blue light. Is this because it is a new update or am I doing something wrong.

For grins, I looked up how to enable RDP on my Raspberry Pi 4 running Raspbian Bullseye - basically do an apt-get install xrdp and done.   11. Hi guys I'm new to this type of computer. I recently got the Le Potato and have tried flashing the armbian package for it with USBimager and Balena and still get no boot. I was able to use the Raspberry PI imager and got Raspbian installed. I'm not sure what exactly is going wrong. I am using a Sandisk Extreme V1 32g but was able to get raspbian on a Samsung Evo select 256g.

  13. Been using the Lepotato with Armbian fine for a few weeks. Typically accessing via ssh over the network, suddenly after a reboot, it's not appearing on my network, solid red light, solid green light, and a blue heartbeat as well as the NIC light blinking as if network connection is functioning normally, but my network is not assigning an IP address and the potato isnt sending any packets. What might the problem be here? HDMI shows no output, using Armbian Jammy made for the tato.

  15. I have a Le Potato running raspbian bullseye. I'm having real trouble with remote access. I can ssh into the Le Potato but cannot get VNC to work. I have used VNC successfully on 5 Pi's over the years so do have experience. Any hints or links to help would be appreciated. I have looked at pi and potato forums to no avail. Thanks.
  16. I am trying to get the RS485 Waveshare CAN hat to communicate with the LePotato. I have Klipper and Mainsail installed which for most would be a good stopping point. I am using CANBUS on all of my printer builds and that requires a CAN hat. I am trying to get this working with this board as i can actually buy these boards. I have a few CAN hats working with Raspberry Pis so i know the original process. Does anyone have a good way to get this all working together? Even a point in the right direction would be a help. I did find a post that claimed to be able to do this but actually trying it as posted resulted with no know vendor as an error.

I cannot seem to get my LCD 2004 to work on my Le Potato AML-S905X-CC I went back and forth a few times in armbian-config to enable/disable various items, but as it stands right now, I just have i2cA enabled.   18. I've tried multiple time on different cards. Both images, give me the same result. At first I'm able to edit files then after a restart or two I'm no longer able to edit files. Can't even touch a new file as root. I have tried at least 10 times today with both images. Every time I end up in the same situation unable to edit the sd card.
  19. I've been trying to enable SPI on the board but have had no luck in this. I noticed that in the armbian-config there is no spi option. I have edited the armbianEnv.txt file to include orerlays = spi-spidev param_spidev_spi_bus = 0 I've tried changing the bus to 1 None of these actions have helped. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  20. Is there an easy (as in a script or utility) way to install Armbian on the eMMC of a Le Potato? I dug through the forum and all the information was old and it seemed rather painful.
  21. Hello all I have a many questions, but I will start off with the 2 I need to be helped on. 1: The Le Potato needs butter and sour cream. HAHA I has to say it... I am running the newest flavor of Armbian created in the last few weeks (Armbian 22.08 Jammy XFCE Kernel 5.10.y, Size: 1263Mb, Updated: Aug 30, 2022). I am new on to a non Pi bd so forgive me on the differences. After loading imaging and updating (or not) the board any time I try to do a full shutdown, all it does is reboot. After I get this to work I will work on my other issue below. 2: I would like to use this as a replacement for Pi 3A+ on a remote solar powered weather station at a RC field. I have had this up and running for about 4 years now but is having issue now with the Pi. The current setup is a Pi, with a wittyPi 3 mini to power it off at night and back on in the morning. I am using a usb cell modem as the network. That being said I also have two Le Potato's to work on so I can work on both issues at once. I was have the modem working fine I have loaded the overlays to get the i2c bus working and I can see the RTC of the wittyPi 3 mini, but it does not work I know it is a GPIO issue and how to set that up.. (help please) alone that thinking I need to make sure I can also access 1 other GPIO pin for an input from the wind vane. (the rest is via i2c) I have tried a "pi" image via from scratch and from the portability tool. I failed. I have everything but the witty pi figured out and the non shutdown ( yes I have tried it with the hat on or off and also before I loaded the hat at all. on a fresh image.) The weather station is written is python 2.7 (in the process of making it work in python 3) I have to fix all the spacing in the libraries that others have written .But I think I will need help as I forgot how I made it 5 years ago.   22. It took me a day and a week to get it somewhat working but I have Retropie installed and would like to have Emulation Station auto start after login. The setting from within the Retropie Setup script does nothing. Typing "emulationstation" after login does indeed run the program but Id like a way to have it autostart once the Potato is powered on (like a Raspberry Pi 3).
  23. I have been reading about webcams, etc. and Linux and am working with my LePotato running Ubuntu 22.04. I added the Arduino CSI-USB converter so I can plug in an RPiHQ cam into the USB port. I am lost. The camera works fine with Raspbian Bullseye in CSI mode, but my limited knowledge doesn't tell me whether the messages I'm seeing with Armbian mean much. What should I do next? Thanks.

  25. Not sure if this is beginner or advanced, so I guess I'll start here. I have a "le potato" I recently bought. Getting it working has been a nightmare, but I'm almost there. Right now my project is to get a 32x64 RGB matrix working using an adafruit hat. I got Armbian 22.02.1 Focal running on it, and I'm using the gpiod library. I've had to write my own access library, but I've almost got it working, translating the pin labels ("7J1 Header Pin15") to the appropriate GPIO/offset values for use with gpiod. Except for exactly one. I try to use request_line on GPIO 22 (chip 0, offset 10) and it gives me an invalid argument. Doesn't do this for any other GPIO and I'm at my wit's end. I see in the docs that this is a "TEST_N" pin with a double asterisk notation that it needs a recent kernel to set output, but mine is plenty recent enough. I've also verified triply that I'm trying to access gpiochip0, offset 10. Some info that might be valuable. Virtual cookies if you can help. Thanks.,
