  1. Hello, on a fresh install (Armbian_22.08.1_Orangepi3_jammy_current_5.15.63), the ethernet eth0 interface doesn't retrieve any IP. Here comes the kernel ethernet related messages: After that, I have launched a dhclient command that took several minutes to stop. Then, an APIPA address is attributed to eth0 nterface. So I have launched armbian-config to set the eth0 to static. And it worked. But how to make DHCP works? Thank you PS all others devices on my network can retrieve an IP by DHCP. I also tried others OS on my Orange Pi 3 boards and they grab an IP. The issue comes from Armbian.
  2. Hello, I own several Orange Pi 3 which I bought at different times. The last batch couldn't run the firmware I used previously: the ethernet was broken. So I suspect there is a new ethernet chipset on it. Current Armbian (Armbian_22.08.1_Orangepi3_jammy_current_5.15.63) works on both types. How could I differentiate the chipsets from the command line? Thank you
  3. I have a orangepi board with H6 , it have BSP android 7 firmware. Now , I can enter BSP uboot shell. want to find a way to boot mainline kernel instead of BSP kernel. How to do that ? Any help would be much appreciated. EDIT: On amlogic arm64 board can use go command to load mainline u-boot , Does allwinner board have the similar way to do that ?
  4. Issue: 1. I have Armbian 22.05 installed on emmc 2. I have run apt upgrade 3. During the process, I got an error due stated that no space on /boot 4. I have tried to reboot but no sign that board starting 5. I have burn SD, load from SD, copy SD boot to emmc boot and than can boot from emmc again The main question is how to prevent this issue in future? How to clean-up /boot from obsolete kernels and avoid space issue?
  5. I have tried 3 Orange Pi 3 images on my orange Pi 3 LTS. None of them will mount the root fs and continue booting. It shows btrfs, but the partition is ext4 and the armbianEnv.txt file has the correct UUID and ext4 stated. I can boot an image from the OrangePi website, so I am 99% certain it is not the power supply or sd card.
  6. Short issue description: sometimes after pulling a USB device out it makes OPi3 USB host controller stuck. One or more USB ports are getting unresponsive (sometimes all four of them) and no messages in dmesg about connection/disconnection. No matter what device is used. This thing happens only on the first host controller, the second rear one is functioning and responsive. It happens more often if we push in and pull out four devices in a short period of time. Wherein /sys/kernel/debug/usb/devices is stuck too, we cannot read the info from it and all the utils (vi, cat, etc.) are getting the D state (uninterruptible sleep). "lsusb" is also not working, but can be killed using ctrl+c. sys/bus/usb/drivers/usb unbind + bind is not working on the first USB host controller but works fine on the second one. If we try to unbind the first host controller, it becomes stuck too. The only thing that helps is the device reboot. We tried to use usbmon module and when this thing happens, we're getting these messages from usbmon: ffff000004c35500 2548827842 S Ii:1:002:1 -115:2048 1 < ffff000004c35500 2549083792 C Ii:1:002:1 0:2048 1 = 0e and so on. We can bring more usbmon log if it is needed. These interrupt messages don't stop and keep coming to usbmon. Our setup is: Orange Pi3 Armbian 21.05.1 Kernel 5.10.34
  7. After installing the Bullseye version in the Orange PI3, I launched the Kodi installation. The videos however are in slow motion, with the audio at normal speed. Are there any codecs missing? The video driver? Thanks
  8. Hi there, I have an OPi3 box that acts as home surveillance server. It has WiFi configured as AP, client is Android phone with static IP/routing and IP Camera software. Problem is, that there is NO IP routing. I CAN access video / pictures from phone on OPi box, but NOT from my LAN. Below is routing table and iptables. Looks ok but not working. I am able to access (from LAN) WiFi IP of OPi. Also can access video served by "motion" software on OPi.   9. Hello, problem is next: my Orange Pi 3 now can't get IP address from my router. To solve it, I've connected via USB-TTL and on step "login:" it totally stucks and doesn't response for keyboard.   10. Hi there, I have configured (successfully with NetworkManager GUI, or TUI, it was quite ago, can see it in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ ) my OPi3 as an WiFi AP. (Needed this as sharing "normal" LAN traffic with video surveillance on same WiFi channel was a disaster). It works, but in "scan" on OpenWRT routers this WIFi shows only as WPA not WPA2 protected. Armbian Buster 21.02.3. Why? How to correct this? Laurent
  11. Hello, After looking on the forum and on the internet I am turning to you. Here is my problem: armbian is currently running on an SD card and I would like to put it on the eMMC memory of my orange Pi 3 (8gb). When I run the sudo nand-sata-install script it offers me to install eMMc on my memory but tells me that the partition is too small. 8go seems largely sufficient to install armbian. You should know that this orange Pi already contains linux firmware in its internal memory. I figured this was due to the fact that maybe this version of armbian didn't support emmc memory, so I tried with the focal version, the buster version and the bionic version. I also tried with the 2 ubuntu images offered on the orange pi site and none seem to work with my eMMc memory. When I go to / dev / I only see mmcblk0 (I'm assuming this is my internal memory), mmcblk1 (my SD card) and mmcblkp1 (my partition on the SD card). I followed the "getting started" tutorial to the letter but I don't have enough knowledge to fix the problem on my own, that's why I'm in your hands.   12. Hi there, 2 days ago I did apt update + apt upgrade on my OPi3, everything fine. Yesterday I did a system reboot (as suggested "kernel changed"), then Eth port went dead. No even ARP works (ARPING). Have tried: - ifconfig shows correct values, - ethtool shows 1Gbps FDX connection, also same on router (OpenWRT TL-WR1043ND w 18.06 software), - changed eth cable, - on other OPi connected to same switch / router (also went dead) depowering device helped, but not on OPi3, - ARP shows MAC/IP not resolved, - WiFi (configured as AP) looks working. - also changed port on router and did power cycle device, nothing helps. - on reboot OPi3 NOTHING was changed in the network (apart update software on OPi3). - iptables clear, every policy is ACCEPT How to diagnose problem? I have a OPI3 board and I try different OS (Arabian, Ubuntu, Debian) all in different release but I do not have wifi and lan. for wifi I have already try with copy firmware file but is is the same for lan I have in dmesg eth0. UP and DOWN. In my experience I have found only Ubuntu Xenial 4.9.118 on the Orange.org web site with wifi OK. can you help me? Thanks
  14. I have just downloaded and installed a fresh Buster Image (Armbian_20.11.3_Orangepi3_buster_current_5.9.14.img). After configuring the root password and the new armbian user, I have tried to update the system using (apt-get update....) But I noticed that there is no internet connection through the ethernet cabble. The command ethtool eth0 says that the link is detected. When trying to activate the Wired connection using "nmtui", the system says: could not activate connexion: Activation failed: IP configuration could not be reserved (no available address, timeout, etc.) Could you assist me to resolve this problem. Note: 1-The same cabble/router are well working with my second orange PI PC card. So, there is no wiring problem. 2-I have well googled to resolve this problem. But, I did not found any working solution.

  16. Hi, I have "orange pi 3" and I want to migrate "Debian Buster" from "SD" card to eMMC. I run this command sudo nand-sata-install And I only get this! see link https://ibb.co/wQz0jx4 As you can see there is no item "Boot from eMMC - system on eMMC" What am I doing wrong?   17. I am considering the purchase of an Orange Pi 3 and I was wondering how well it is supported by the current Armbian image. According to https://linux-sunxi.org/Linux_mainlining_effort it should work mostly fine. How well does Panfrost run on the board? Are there any gotchas that I should be aware of? Thanks.
  18. hello, my orangepi3 after the updates of firmware of these days seems to loose eth0, at reboot take eth0 and eth0:avahi with class 169 ip. i made backups (i use a sd to restore the mmc mouting hd and then copy the gzip image) so i have not problems to restore but, i suspect, the previus version is working but the new one not. sorry for my worst english... ab

I need some help with using pwm on my orangepi3, i installed wiring pi and turned on leds, but i don't know what pins are pwm capacble nor don't i know how to use pwm, i also want to add an ir remote to then change modes of led strip, can somebody help me with that or will it be easier to just use a microcontroller since i have a lot of experience with programming them but almost no with orangepi3 help would be greatly appreciated soft pwmlibrary? also installed ir support, but can i get data from the ir sensor with wiring pi?

I running currently on Armbian Buster (20.08.1) As I understand this needs to be enabled on build-time (?) or is there any other way to enable cgroups? I am having problems with ethernet, the sbc was connected to 100 mbps network and it worked normally, but recently i relocated it and connected it to another cable, the problem is that now i only get 10mbps, the cable is ok because it tried in my pc and got 100mbps, but i only get 10mbps on the sbc, then i found how to fix this in settings, but i acidentally removed ethernet connection that i was using and now the ethernet doesn't work, do i have to change something in network interfaces? also it says no link detected
  22. Dear All, I have been downloaded the Armbian Buster OS from "https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-3/" link and flash on Orange pi3 board. We are tesing OPI3 board with TCL monitor [(Model : 55P8E) (Resolution: Ultra HD (4K) ) 55 inch ] but getting the blank screen on display. After that we changed the TCL monitor setting by HDMI 2.0 "OFF" from "Auto" mode then it's working fine. We have another monitor which does not have HDMI 2.0 OFF mode facility so we can't use our product in market due to this limitation. FYI : same thing we tested with fresh orangepi board (with default android image) and it working fine. It will be good if someone can help us to sove this issue because we are stuck to launch our product in market due to issue. Thanks & Best Regards, Nikunj Patel
  23. You need to connect the equipment via the I2C bus with a frequency of 1 kHz or 10 kHz to Orange pi 3 (OS Armbian Buster with Linux 5.3.9-sunxi64). Supported setting of these frequencies and how to change correctly?   24. Hello, I have Orange Pi 3 board. Panfrost drivers works fine bud I accelerated video not working. I have trouble with the drivers...   25. I successfully installed Armbian 20.08.1 to eMMC, and it works fine. Now, I want to try Raspberry OS (I'm told that it works?) but regardless of what I put on my uSD card (I've tried several OS's) - when rebooting the OPi 3+, it always comes up with the eMMC Armbian load. In researching this, I read over and over that the uSD card always has priority over the eMMC. Is this still true with the current version of Armbian? What could explain the behavior I'm seeing? I tried the Install to/update booth loader, both option, with no change in behavior. Any thoughts?
