  1. Hello, everybody. I managed to succefully pu to work my recently acquired Orange Pi PC, using Ubuntu server. Now, I'm trying to configure my new Orange Pi 2g IOT as well. However, I just found out it doesn't have a monitor out, and I don't know how to access it via USB. So I had an idea: The 2g IOT has TX, RX, GND connections, and so does my Pi PC... Can anybody tell me How I can use the Pi PC to run linux commands on th 2g IOT? I don't have a Usb-ttl-uart connector, and it's veru hard to get one on my region... Thnak you very much.
  2. Hi, Just did a new armbian build Armbian_21.02.0-trunk_Orangepipc_buster_current_5.10.6_desktop and flashed the image. It works ok but after some reboot times the auto login to desktop is not working anymore and it prompts for user login. Tried quite a few times to re-install but always after a few shutdown and start again cycles it reverts to login prompt and not auto login. Also tried to find a solution in the forum but the files and config involved in previous solutions is no longer valid in the newer builds (/usr/share/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/60-lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf or /etc/default/nodm). So the question is this, how can I configure the systen for having auto login ? Christos
  3. Hi All! Can anyone help me about rotate de ArmBian logo in startup splash screen? I am working with LCD Display and I want change the logo rotation to portrait mode. Orange Pi PC and Armbian_22.05.1_Orangepipc_focal_current_5.15.43_xfce_desktop.img.xz. Display - 7" HDMI Display 1024 x 600
  4. Hi im not Linux user not all, can someone point me how to enable SPI ? I try this: Enabling SPI Enable the hardware through config: sudo armbian-config switch on SPI in System>Hardware>SPI-spidev & save Update /etc/modules: sudo nano /etc/modules to include the following line: spi-dev Update /boot/armbianEnv.txt : sudo nano /boot/armbianEnv.txt to include the following: param_spidev_spi_bus=1 #origianl is 0 but the resonance measurement.py module expects 1 so easier to fix here param_spidev_max_freq=100000000 The commands to verify the SPI bus should return output like: $ ls /dev/spi* /dev/spidev1.0 $ ls -l /dev/spi* crw——- 1 root root 153, 0 Aug 25 11:05 /dev/spidev1.0 $ lsmod | grep -i spi spidev 20480 1 But on $ ls /dev/spi* give me ls: cannot access '/dev/spi*': No such file or directory dmesg https://pastebin.com/BNSpyMiL Keep in mind English is not my native language.
  5. Hey there! I'm trying to create an image with Debian Bullseye using Debos and Armbian. My board is an Orange Pi PC H3. I am following this step guide to generate the image, but I'm having problems to read serial. The tutorial that I follow was created for Orange Pi Zero +2 H5, so I change the architecture for armhf. When I boot the image I don't have any file named "armbianEnv.txt". This file should be already there? Or I have to create it? Some idea about what can be the problem? Just for test I create this file with some parameters that I found, but still not working.
  6. Hello, I'm using a orangepi pc with armbian and I want to boot (automatically if possible) from the usb flash drive where I flashed batoceda. Is it possible? And if so, would you have step by step? Thanks a lot.
  7. I have a solar application for PC, so my goal is to reduce the power consumption in idle as much as possible. How would one go about this with the latest armbian distros?
  8. Hi, I tested my board with below armbian distro. Question is , there are lots of entry about H3 hw decode problems, are these fixed in this distro? When i open 1080p mp4 Big Buck Bunny video still doesnt work is that any specific settings to work with hw accelerated decode. How can i be sure that hw decoding is running with VLC? or any specific ffmpeg command. 9. After a clean install of 22.11.1, I edit /boot/armbianEnv.txt to add: overlay_prefix=sun8i overlays=uart3 i2c0 spi-spidev param_spidev_spi_bus=0 and reboot. After the reboot I list the /dev files of interest and there is/are no "spi*" entries: pi@orangepipc:~$ ls /dev/i2c* /dev/spi* ls: cannot access '/dev/spi*': No such file or directory /dev/i2c-0 /dev/i2c-1 pi@orangepipc:~$ Not sure if it makes any difference but I only have power, HDMI, and RJ45 connected to the board at this time, and nothing connected to the GPIO pins. Below are the states of two files, one from which I got the BOARDFAMILY, and the other into which I placed that value as "overlay_prefix", and the "overlays" and "param_spidev_spi_bus" values. Any and all help appreciated. 10. Hello! I try to connect to OrangePiPC by serial console. I tried using UART1 (add overlay & switch console to ttyS1), UART3 (ttyS3) and ttyS0 (debug port). But always I can see output (with kernel or ) but on my host computer (ubuntu 20.04) I see login prompt and can't enter anything. I tried change speed but not login. Even when I stop serial-tty@ serivice and start minicom without luck. Can you help me?
  11. Hello! I try use UPort 1150 on my OrangePIPC+ board, but got error misiing firmware. After lookup I check that this files was missed, so I copy from RaspberryPi4 board (with Armbian 22.04) moxa folder & ti_3150.fw, ti_5052.fw. Then after reboot all work ok. So, is this that I missed in configuration or this is a bug? Regards, Alex
  12. Hi: I use orange pi pc to build a little chromium kiosk for showing some static information(like temperature). most things are fine. but there is a electronic scroll bar which is not running smooth. I check my current environment (armbian 22.08 with ubuntu 22.04) that I am running xorg with fbdev driver. I wonder if there is other things I can try for the hardware? I search the forum and I found there is "lima" driver, but I don't know if I am using it or not. I can see "lima" is loaded via "lsmod" but am I using it currently? I hope the orange pi pc can do better with newer driver. if not, what's the next armbian pi I should buy to get better chromium experience? thanks a lot for help!!
  13. I had to reapply u-boot image. So, I did it by armbian-config and later by "dd" command. In both situations this is failing (please see u-boot messages printed by serial). I was restoring the image (I have backup images of my SD card) and trying again. What may be the problem? I had linux-u-boot-orangepi*-current 22.08.6 installed. As below - please note Verifying Checksum ... Bad Data CRC BTW. I tried the same on Orange Pi PC and Orange Pi Zero - the same result (fail to boot). => version U-Boot 2022.07-armbian (Oct 18 2022 - 07:35:20 +0000) Allwinner Technology arm-none-linux-gnueabihf-gcc (GNU Toolchain for the A-profile Architecture 9.2-2019.12 (arm-9.10)) 9.2.1 20191025 GNU ld (GNU Toolchain for the A-profile Architecture 9.2-2019.12 (arm-9.10)) 2.33.1.20191209 => reset resetting ... 16. there is a problem using tvheadend package on os armbian bullseye 22.08. if you download the tvheadend package, then after installation you return back to the pseudo-graphical shell and that's it. according to the video from YouTube, people could enter the administrator login and password for authorization in the web interface. but on orange pi pc with os armbian it does not work and without knowing the login and password it is stupidly impossible to get into the web interface. help solve the problem
  17. hi im newbie here, i have small question ,sorry if so simple or silly. im confused about size block on armbian system (default system archive) if a make df , the system says 1 kb . My application: So basically my application is a semi-autonomous car wif two cameras.me want to control teh car from a web browser and stream a video of both cameras on teh browser Issues: 1: On orange, pl broadcast streaming from USB cameras to a web browser? 2: Send controls from web browser to orange pi? 3: Teh UL4l drivers are not installable on an orange pi pc so need to find an alternate 4: halp to find a low latency video streaming protocol dat easily embeds on orange pl pc TEMPThank you
  19. Hello! I met next problem: I need configure UART communication with baud rate 1 Mb/s (or 2 or 3). But internal clock of the bus is 1.5 MHz, and if i try to communicate with 1 Mb/s, error is too big. Is it possible somehow change internal clock of the uart? Or maybe any other possibilities how to configure such communication ? Or maybe you know any models with higher internal clock of the bus (Like on 6.5 MHz on raspberry pi 4, for example) ? Now one section is equal to 1.333 microseconds, but it should be 1.0 mcs. I found same topic at this forum, but it's no solution there: Thank you and have a good day
  20. a while back I created my own Armbian environment for the Orange PI Pc that uses Xstart to run a custom .exe I created. the Program uses Uart to communicate with an external Pic chip. the program has been running well and have not had any problems with it. I created a .img of the environment and have been disabusing copies. however recently ( about 2 months after ) I have been told that some of them have been crashing and digging into it I noticed is was Uart communication failing. A temporary solution has been replacing the SD card with a new one but this does not fix the issue of this happening in the first place. I have attached the Uboot of both the failing program and working one. any help is greatly appreciated, thank you. here is the U boot for the program that is failing here is the U boot for the working Program. note on line 45-52 where it shows uart being applied.

  22. I tried to execute `sudo armbianmonitor -v` and I got this result. ``` Starting package integrity check. This might take some time. Be patient please... It appears you may have corrupt packages. This is usually a symptom of filesystem corruption caused by SD cards or eMMC dying or burning the OS image to the installation media went wrong. The following changes from packaged state files were detected: /usr/lib/chromium-browser/master_preferences.dpkg-dist ``` This is from new orangepi pc board and new SD Card with new install OS.

  24. After upgrade to Bullseye 5.15.26 I can't enable spi-dev on my board. Previously I used Buster 5.3.9 and everything worked well, after upgrade /dev/spidev0.0 dissappeared. Board is working fine (reinstalled 5.3.9 and SPI working). Is there any trick which need to be made to enable it ? armbianmonitor.txt
