  1. Hi, I have recently installed latest (20) Armbian Desktop for OPi PC(+), have problems installing software from network repo (synaptic). 1). Small version problem with one of Qt5 libraries (dependency for Kadu - Polish communicator GG client), synaptic wants version 1u1, on the net there is version 1u3. Installed using wget + dpkg, now Kadu starts (at least) OK. 2). PostgreSQL problem: there is version 11 of PgSQL provided, OK, it's current production. BUT there is PgAdmin3(!) in repo, which works with at most version 9.6 of PgSQL (from PgAdmin site). Now there is PgAdmin4, but (I) cannot make it work (compile from source OK, but doesn't start)., there is NO PgAdmin4 in repo! 3). systemctl start postgresql.service doest NOT work, returns "Service entered failed state", "su - postgres -c 'pg_ctl_start" WORKS. I have same problem on Fedora 24 i386 on laptop, so it is not platform / system version dependent :( laurent
  2. Hi there. I've got the problem with boot from emmc when empty SD card is installed. Opi PC+ Armbian (debian 9 stretch) Kernel 5.4.20-sunxi I've moved OS from SD to emmc using armbian-config util, then format SD with fat and now when I power on my OPi without SD card all is ok, but when SD installed boot get stuck with error "Script failed", unknown device... I've tried to chang mmc0‘s sdc_detmode, but doesn't have /boot/script.bin Can anyone help? Thank you.

  4. Hello! There is a common issue with my Orange Pi PC +. I didn't find any solution for it. When I "shutdown -t 0" my device, it continues to consume power and the chipset is warm. Is it possible to turn the power off completely through the command line? Thanks in advance!

  6. According to the specs of the OP PC Plus, it only supports 32GB micro SD. My only 32GB that I have, that I was booting from on the OP PC plus eventually got corrupted, and will not boot, can't format and install armbian or anything. What are my options? Can I somehow boot from a 64GB micro sdcard, or USB from a fresh armbian image write?

  8. I'm using g_ether to connect OrangePiPc+ to network over USB OTG. On legacy kernel, that was giving 140 Mbits/sec IN (download from network to OrangePiPc+) and 170 Mbits/sec OUT. After upgrading to mainline kernel 4.19.62 (or 5.3.9), IN throughput degraded to 93-98 Mbits/sec (while OUT improved reaching up to 210 Mbits/sec in CDC EEM mode). This easily reproducible on both my boards OrangePiPc+ and OrangePiZero with latest Bionic images (clean installations + "modprobe g_ether iProduct="Linux-USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget" iManufacturer="Netchip Technology, Inc." dev_addr=02:81:05:F0:5C:24 host_addr=02:81:05:F0:5C:23 use_eem=0" ). Any ideas where is the bottleneck and how to resolve it? Tried several USB cables and USB host devices. Throughput measured by iperf; samba and nfs are showing the same. ifconfig stats indicating 0 tx/rx errors.
  9. Hello, I've just found a topic about removing Allwinner legacy. I work with Orange Pi PC Plus board, H3 CPU. Do I understand correctly that the option to build system based on old v.3.4 kernel will be removed? Once I experienced a problem with system shutdown using newer kernel - got System halted message. This is why I decided to continue with legacy kernel. Please advise.

  11. I coudn't find in menu System -> Install optin for cloning OS from SD to eMMC. How can I get it back as on older version? Boards are Orange Pi +2E and Orange Pi PC+ OS Armbian v5.91 I tied even: git clone https://github.com/armbian/config cd config bash debian-config but same... Thx
  12. Hi there, I was expecting /etc/machine-id to be unique for every install, but it is static which was very unexpected (I use it as the basis of machine-specific identifier which should have been globally unique). fixing it up was easy enough: rm -f /etc/machine-id rm -f /var/lib/dbus/machine-id dbus-uuidgen --ensure systemd-machine-id-setup Shouldn't this be done when the root fs is being resized on the first boot?
  13. Hi there, Orange Pi PC+, Armbian Stretch. What I want is to replicate current router (OpenWRT Barrier Breaker on TP-LINK MR3220 v1) on and Orange Pi. I use this router to "share" (using scp from host PC) an USB flash dongle (remote site backup). With its processor copying filer over WiFi SCP is terribly slow (1.2MB/sec). Network Manager "proposes" me to create an WiFi network, but with only NO security or only WEP. I use WPA personal. Configuration on router wlan0 as an AP (WPA), wlan0-1 as WiFi client (also WPA different SSID) with WDS enabled (to act as bridge member), eth0 as usual. All those 3 interfaces bridged together an with 2 IP adresses (bridge). Flash dongle in USB 2.0 port. On Orange Pi all things seems to be already present (wpa_supplicant, hostapd) ready to be configured. Could anyone explain how to create appropriate config files? (link to a proven recipe?). Laurent
  14. Hi there, I have upgraded from Jessie to Stretch, apt-get update apt-get upgrade change repo name in apt config files update, upgrade. Now I lost some functionality: - X does not start, nor automatic nor manual, message "no screens found" - Firefox crashes even before main window open, no error message (remote X). In armbian-config I tried to install desktop, but command returns quite fast (much faster than on fresh Stretch). It seems no distribution problem, because I have installed Stretch on another card and there everything works fine. (except extreme slow screen update on remote X). What to check? How to repair? Laurent

  17. Hi, Is there a way to fix emmc booting problem from uboot itself, i've updated armbian and now orangepi pc+ doesn't boot, i've connected uart and i see that it reads /boot/boot.scr from mmc 1, but then tries to load stuff from mmc 0, so i guess my boot.scr got overwritten by default one .. or something. boot shows this => boot switch to partitions #0, OK mmc1(part 0) is current device Scanning mmc 1:1... 18. I apologize for asking such a basic question. I have recompiled the wifi module on an Orange Pi PC+ to operate in concurrent mode so it can act in both station and AP mode at the same time, allowing it to be a wifi repeater. The problem is, this feature is lost on every kernel upgrade, requiring me to recompile the module each time I upgrade the kernel. The kernel module driver often changes slightly between kernel versions, and I have to track down and fix new bugs in the source code that prevent it from compiling when concurrent mode is enabled. I'm happy with how the wifi module performs now, but don't want to lose the ability to get needed kernel updates in the future. Is there any way I can keep the wifi module I have now without losing the ability to upgrade the rest of the kernel?
  19. I'm trying to add concurrent mode to the wifi driver on an Orange Pi PC Plus running the latest stable distribution of Armbian, but running into an "invalid module format" error due to the kernel version not matching the source version I'm using to recompile the wifi driver. I installed both the source and header files from armbian-config. The kernel version is 4.19.59 according to uname -r. This apparently is the linux-image-next-sunxi image, according to `apt-cache search linux-image | grep 4.19.59`. However, the source for the next-sunxi branch in the repository is 4.19.57, not 4.19.59, as `apt-cache search linux-source | grep next-sunxi` gives: linux-source-4.19.57-next-sunxi - This package provides the source code for the Linux kernel 4.19.57 `apt-cache search linux-source | grep 4.19.59` returns no results. How do I get the 4.19.59 source version? Would it be safe to upgrade to the dev branch (v 5.1.0), since both the kernel and source there are the same version? 22. The essence of the problem is this. I work with Orange PC Plus microcomputers. I used to use the Armbian_5.25_Orangepipcplus_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113 distribution And so the device address was HW Address: fa: 20: 6d: b5: 65: bd But when installing new distros Armbian MAC becomes different. HW Address: 12: 81: ab: 1a: 39: 92 Permanennt HW Address: 12: 81: ab: 1a: 39: 92 I really need the MAC to be like before. And it did not change when reinstalling the OS. How to do it?
  23. I have an Orange Pi PC Plus and I'm looking for a USB video grabber. Could you suggest me some models which are easy to setup and work with OPi reliably?
  24. Hello, I am developing a project that will use the ethernet module ENC28J60 on orangepi pc plus, but I do not know how to configure armbian to enable using the module. Searching the internet I just found solutions for raspberry. I have already enabled the spi-spidev option using the armbian-config tool. What should I do now? Thanks.
  25. the new version of Armbian (5.83) Does not boot from sd card I tried to install 5.69 it's work normally. I tried to all the sd card formatter rufus and wın32 disk imager and different sd cards but no way new version does not work anyway. when i burn to 5.69 it boot normally.
