  2. Friends I have a keyboard Rii i8 + I put the adapter that comes with the keyboard I put to locate by the bluetooth of the armbian it finds but at the time of pairing in happens nothing, only blinks green in Bluetooth and nothing else. I've tried another adapter, but it does not even appear as installed. This keyboard I use it with Openelec and works perfectly. Does anyone have any tips on what I can do for it to work on Armbian? Thanks.
  3. Hi, I can only find legacy images on the website. Is there a place to get mainline images so I can test docker? Thanks in advance. Regards, Michal
  4. I have an orange pi+ 2e that is being used for pihole. I want to set my pi to use 1 cpu core, disable usb ports and set Ethernet link speed at 100Mb/s etc to reduce consumption however not all the changes will apply at once (see picture attached) If cpu is running at one core and ram at reduced speed, ethernet link speed will still be at 1gbps and the other way round when Link speed is at 100Mbps.
  5. I downloaded Ubuntu server from here https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-plus-2e/ and then burned it using Etcher to my SD card. I never loaded/installed any OS on my Orange Pi Plus2E before. Without SD card it permanently shows only Allwinner H3 logo on screen, so it seems no OS installed there. Red led is permanently on (not blinking) and nothing elase is happen. After I insert the SD card with the burned image I immediately get green LED on (not blinking), red LED is off. The monitor screen is permanently black and nothing else happens. When I connected USB/UART converter I saw the following in the logs: U-Boot SPL 2017.05-armbian (Jun 13 2017 - 15:36:38) DRAM: 2048 MiB Trying to boot from MMC1 U-Boot 2017.05-armbian (Jun 13 2017 - 15:36:38 +0200) Allwinner Technology CPU: Allwinner H3 (SUN8I 1680) Model: Xunlong Orange Pi Plus 2E I2C: ready DRAM: 2 GiB MMC: SUNXI SD/MMC: 0, SUNXI SD/MMC: 1 *** Warning - bad CRC, using default environment In: serial Out: serial Err: serial Net: phy interface7 eth0: ethernet@1c30000 Hit any key to stop autoboot: 0 38518 bytes read in 142 ms (264.6 KiB/s) Unknown command 'bmp' - try 'help' switch to partitions #0, OK mmc0 is current device Scanning mmc 0:1... What it can be and how to install Armbian to my board? UPD: it happens only with Armbian 5.30 I tried other Oses and older version of Armbian (5.14) They do not stuck on this message but hang on different steps of boot. And the steps are different from bott to boot for the same images. Also I tried different SD cards: the result is the same.
  6. I have downloaded and installed the desktop version of armbian on my Orange PI+ 2e and I have disabled the desktop and gpu with armbian-config as i only access the device through ssh. However I can't figure out how to re enable the gui of armbian so i can use vnc to access my server
  7. Platform oPi Plus 2E with Armbian 5.31 (Legacy). I have configured a WiFi adaptor, and it works fine in connecting to an existing hotspot. When I attempt to use network manager applet (or nm-connection-editor/nmtui from a root prompt) to create an Ad-hoc network I am getting permissions errors. For NM TUI it is 'Unable to save connection: Insufficient privileges.', and similar for the other methods. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to diagnose and/or fix this? From the research I have done the nm-applet error is likely a simple config error (not set up to run as root for this function), but the other avenues failures seem odd.
  8. I am new to OPi+2E & Armbian combo. When booted up, all outgoing traffic is fine (though speed is very slow) but no incoming traffic gets successful, e.g. SSH and Ping. I tried DHCP and Static IPs. I believe there is no firewall running. I connected to WiFi through armbian-config and WiFi also connected but no incoming on either interface. If I disconnect LAN cable while WiFi is still connected, incoming traffic works on WiFi. As soon as I connect LAN cable again, incoming stops working on both interfaces. Same behaviour on Raspbian and Armbian. Is there some firmware I need to update? Help will be appreciated.
  9. Env is ARMBIAN 5.31 stable Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS 3.4.113-sun8i When I run Kismet on this system (which creates a new interface in Monitor mode - wlan0mon), the original WiFi interface loses any connections, and will no longer function properly. Is this a expected behavior? Is there any way to get both monitor and normal mode to co-exist? I've looked around and don't see any obvious driver updates that would address this. Any suggestions (beyond adding a second WiFi adapter)?
  10. 12. I've been playing with remote desktop from windows 10 to my orange pi plus 2e, finally got it working correctly using this forum tightvnc and xdrp . i was having trouble with it send all commands to the main user instead of the current remote session. the symptom of that was chrome didnt seem to work remotely, but when i checked the main screen many chrome windows were open. so i uninstalled vino, tightvnc, etc. and reinstalled tight and xdrp voila! ok so now chrome opens correctly so i went to test youtube which seemed a bit slower.. redraw etc. and no sound! so now my question is - does this remote setup support sound ? I have heard you can't watch movies... but what about youtube + sound?
  13. OrangePi plus2e how do I get hardware acceleration to work in smplayer? I am recording tv using tvheadend and trying to play back using smplayer. I have tried the available options for video output driver and X11 (slow) is by far the best but is not useable as there is still alot of stuttering. top shows 138% mpv usage vdpau is colored almost horizontal lines All help is appreciated Dave
  14. Hello, My Opi+2 somehow blocks internet when i turn it on. Even though it is not connected on ethernet port. Then i disabled wifi. Everything seemed fine at first, but as because of i need internet and the wifi is disabled, i had to use ethernet port. When i plug ethernet cable to the opi+2, the modem's internet connection drops. I don't have any ideas about why it is happening. Here is the modem log: And here is the opi+2 syslog:

  16. I hear that Orange Pi 2E has 1GB network speed and an USB3 port. In my project I paln to use an SBC as a network bridge and sniff traffic for problems. A simple network tap would otherwise be ok but they come only with 10/100Mbd speed limit. What I'd do have two ethernet ports on the Orange Pi, one regular and one via USB3. No to my question: are Orange Pi capable for this or is the advertised network/USB3 speed buggy/lacking? I have one Orange Pi PC for a file server and it has been running for weeks just fine. Raspberry Pi's are fine to (albeit still no 1GB ethernet). Raspberry Zero's have issues (mine seem to lock up after a couple of days).
  17. Hi, After reading a post about NAS for allwinner, I need some advices: So far I have same performance on my raspberry pi b+ and my orangepi2e : 2 hard drives 2 To 2,5" usb on a powered hub. (approx 11 Mb/s max through AFP/nfs share). Gigabit does not seem to be the bottleneck on the pi since it does not impact my bit rates. My question is simple : can I have better performance if I make a RAID via btrfs ? Do I have to format my hard drives ? What is the best distro ? (I used armbian but does not seem very stable compared to the raspberry, what about ubuntu server, or raspbian ?) Thanks
  18. Orange Pi Plus 2e How do I clone the SD card and both have boot capability? I am new to the concepts of Pi's so I am looking to slowly add abilities to the pi and have a working clone which I can use when I stuff it up. I have also seen no mention of grub being used anywhere. My main computer is a amd 64 with Debian running but I can use my laptop with win 8.1 on it but would prefer a solution which I can use on Debian Thanks for your help Dave
  19. I received my new Orange Pi Plus 2e and tried to set it up. I already got an Orange Pi PC2 running so it's not really something new to me. I used the latest Armbian images (desktop and server), flashed them to my SD card (with Etcher) and plugged it into the Pi. The green LED lights up and the device seems to be working. To this point it's the same as on my PC2. But after ~1min the red LED starts flashing twice over and over and nothing seems to be working. I get no signal over the HDMI out and the LED keeps flashing. I flashed the SD card three times to make sure it's not a flashing error. I tried the desktop image twice and the server image once. It always ends with the flashing red LED 1 minute after starting the device. It is not an SD card issue, the card is working fine in my computer and the Orange Pi PC2. It is also not a power issue, the power adapter works fine on my Orange Pi PC2. I also tried the PC2's power adapter on the Plus 2e, same result - flashing red LED. Any ideas what the problem could be? Or does the flashing red LED have anything to do with the eMMC of the Plus 2e? As far as I know the system should run from the SD card until I transfer it to the eMMC myself. I tried waiting for a couple of minutes in case the flashing red LED means the eMMC is being flashed. But after a while I gave up and unplugged the power. Does that flashing red LED mean I got a broken Opi Plus 2e or am I doing something wrong here?
  20. Firstly many thanks to all the hard work from the Armbian developers - it installed onto the eMMC of my new Orange Pi Plus2E first time with no problems I'm trying to benchmark the board (with a fan/heatsink) and without. The standard Armbian runs it at a maximum of 1.296GHz but I'd like to run it faster. I'm new to using fex, but this appears to push it up to 1.536GHz with a Vdd of 1.5V: cd bin2fex /boot/bin/orangepiplus2e.bin orangepiplus2e.heatsink.fex sed -i "s/1296000/1536000/g; s/1320/1500/" orangepiplus2e.heatsink.fex cp /etc/default/cpufrequtils /etc/default/cpufrequtils~ sed -i "s/1296000/1536000/" /etc/default/cpufrequtils fex2bin orangepiplus2e.heatsink.fex /boot/bin/orangepiplus2e.heatsink.bin mv /boot/script.bin /boot/script.bin~ ln -s /boot/bin/orangepiplus2e.heatsink.bin /boot/script.bin reboot have I missed anything? Is it possible to run it at the 1.6GHz that the board is advertised at? Many thanks
  21. Hi orange pi +2e with Distribution: Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS Kernel version: Linux 3.4.113-sun8i armv7l rpimonitor installed with sudo armbianmonitor -r I use Rpimonitor to control temperature, upgradable packages and cpu frequency, nice tool ! Unfortunately it looks that rpimonitor has access to my external external hard drives, so no spin off . I change rpimonitor config files sudo nano /etc/rpimonitor/data.conf #include=/etc/rpimonitor/template/sdcard.conf and sudo nano /etc/rpimonitor/template/Allwinner_H3_Extended_Mainline.conf #dynamic.7.name=externaltemp #dynamic.7.source=/tmp/externaltemp #dynamic.7.regexp=(.*) #dynamic.7.postprocess=sprintf("%.1f", $1/1000) #dynamic.7.rrd=GAUGE #dynamic.8.name=disktemp #dynamic.8.source=/tmp/disktemp #dynamic.8.regexp=(.*) #dynamic.8.postprocess=sprintf("%.1f", $1/1000) #dynamic.8.rrd=GAUGE But no success Only if I stoped rpimonitor service, my hard disks spin off. Can anybody help Bye nepo @edit: With only armbianmonitor -m no problems
  22. How can I disable or lock my opi + 2e's microphone with a password to prevent anyone from hearing thnks
  23. Hello everyone, First of all, sorry for my poor English. Quick description of my problem: I need to install OMV on Orange Pi Plus 2E's EMMC. At the beginning I used the image of the following URL: http://simplenas.com/download/other/orange-plus But it is clear that this image is prepared for Orange pi plus,I successfully installed this image to Orange Pi Plus 2E and successfully run on the TF card, but when I cloned image to the EMMC , it can not start. then i used the armbian image of the following URL: https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-plus-2e/ i install OMV by apt-get,but webui failed to start after Reboot. at last I found a link in the OMV official forum : http://kaiser-edv.de/tmp/NumpU8/ But unfortunately this link does not contain image for Orange Pi Plus 2E EMMC I downloaded the image for orangepi zero, but it can not run on Orange Pi Plus 2E EMMC. Will armbian official can provide a OMV image for Orange Pi Plus 2E EMMC? thanks a lot! Sorry for my poor English again!
  24. Hello everyone, First of all, sorry for my bad English. Quick description of my problem: I recently buy three Orange Pi Plus 2E with official case and official AC adapter. On this three cards I want to use Armbian, I use the last version of Armbianfound here: https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-plus-2e/ Write on SD card with Win32DiskImager. For information, I use a Samsung EVO 16G SD Card, same HDMI cable, same screen and official A/C adapter. For two cards, no problem, boot on Armbian on SD card and install on emmc in 10 minutes, but the last one have some problem... The last card won't boot on SD card with Armbian: black screen, no keyboard reaction and green led on the card. I test some other image I found on internet (forum orangepi) and the result is very strange: desktop image work perfectly (Ethernet controller, usb, screen, writeemmcworks) but server image not! Only one Debian server image works but not the ethernet controller... I have some knowledge in Linux (I'm a Java Dev) but here I don't understand what happens with this card... If anyone has an idea I'm interrested! Thanks in advance.
  25. Hi I want to install a tv-server (vdr) on my orangepi with a usb-dvb-stick from astrometa. I read this post and try to reproduce it. I build my own image ARMBIAN 5.27 stable Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 3.4.113-sun8i (linux-sun8i-default.config )and install v4l driver with no errors. Unfortunately it don't work. The system don't recognize the stick (see file orangepi_Astrometa.txt and dmesq_media_build.txt ). Useful for comparison my raspberrypi with the stick (raspberry_Astrometa.txt) . Can anybody help? Ciao nepo
