Hello, i`ve successfully started Armbian_19.11.5_Arm-64_eoan_current_5.5.0-rc6_desktop_20200127 on my A95X F2 device with meson-g12b-odroid-n2.dtb. I know that it is not correct dtb which i should use for my box, but it is the only one that worked.

If i use meson-g12a-x96-max-rmii.dtb i get stuck on this:

I also have got the original android dtb file. But i dont know how to add it here.

These are parameters from LAN 100 and they work on x96max with LAN 100. You can try to process the DTB meson-g12a-x96-max-rmii.dtb  in DTS and similarly select parameters from your DTS, collect and check the operation of the modified DTB.

"DOWN" = not active

The download is running because all network interfaces are not active.

Show the output "ip a" if after starting with dtb from N2, switch to dtb max96-rmii. I'm interested in what other network interfaces there are with this DTB. There may still be interfaces that prevent proper startup.

I cant realy understand what you mean...I can only show you ip a in N2, because when i use rmii.dtb system doesn boot, it actually boots but i see what is on image from the first message. If it possible to explain it in russian in personal message?

OMG it booted with meson-g12a-u200.dts and now 1 see 4 cores instead of 2 on N2. There is no wifi. I cant check eth because i dont have a cabel right now... ip a still says "Down" but i see avahi deamon and ip adress in ip a/ Its already something!

I am haveing a trouble to enable audio on AML.Version 20200326 Could it be because i use u200.dtb?

Naturally, the sound won't work with this dtb, it's a different device.

It is important to know exactly what model of wifi/bt soc does your tv-box have.I ve read on 4pda forum that version 4/32 has ampak soc, but in fact it is MT7668RSN.Found it out when i opened the box. There is no compatible driver for the BT available. Balbes150 helped me to remove information about wifi/bt module in .dtb and  Armbian started successfully with meson-g12a-x96-max-rmii.dtb.Sound trough Hdmi or spdif-toslink is working by default.Ethernet 100 works also.

Thank you balbes150!

Just need to  change status "okay" to "disabled"

Hi @balbes150,

Thank you very much for your tremendous work! I have a TV box, the same as topic starter has, i.e. A95X F2 (on Amlogic S905X2). Actually this TV box has 2 modifications: 1) With Ampac Wi-fi module. 2) With Mediatek Wi-fi module. As far as I know, the Wi-fi of Ampac one works with no issue on Armbian. My version of TV box has Mediatek Wi-Fi module (MT7668RSN). I have installed "Armbian_20.05.3_Arm-64_buster_current_5.7.0-rc3_desktop_20200502.img.xz" on SD card. It boots with "meson-g12-u200.dtb", however Wi-fi is not working.

Could you please help with this issue, when time allows? How can I make wi-fi work on it?

I am a newbie, please, do not judge strictly.

Russian is also OK.

Thanks a lot.

Best regards,

Does not have free drivers.

Thank you for your answer. So nothing can be done?

It would be great if we could make wi-fi work. System overall works quite smooth, only Internet connection is required.

Best regards,

Hi @balbes150

Could you please explain how can I make Mediatek Wi-Fi module (MT7668RSN) work?

Could I extract necessary files from Android (wi-fi works on Android 9) or from somewhere else? Or any other ways?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Options.

1. contact the manufacturer (seller) of your TV box to send support for this model to the main core (driver, settings, firmware , etc.).

2. you will write the necessary driver for the core 5.

3. you will find or hire specialists who will do this work.

Hi @balbes150

Thank you, understood. I will go with another option, just won`t use Armbian anymore.

Honestly speaking this was interesting for me, I mean using this system. However, I do not like such attitude and all. I know that this is for free, and use it "as is" and all. But whoever high skill specialist you are, I do not think that treating people like that is proper.

I can see many other foreign developers as well. Never seen such attitude/rudeness.

Anyway, good luck with that.

Best regards,

You haven't studied what models are supported and how they work. You immediately bought shit for a meager price, the profit from this purchase was received exclusively by the seller and manufacturer. And now you want everyone around you, for free, to rush to solve your problems ? Personally, I don't care if you use Armbian or not.

@balbes150 I do not "want everyone around me rush to solve my problem". I just asked in a polite manner if you could help with that.

P.S. I bought it, because it works great on Android, and will be using it. Armbian was just experiment for me. Based on your attitude, I can see why so few people use Armbian. Even those who could use it. Yes, I know you do not care.

Thanks to Name28 for the "meson-g12-u200.dtb" info. All works very well except the wifi.

Many thanks to Balbes150 for making this possible, wonderfull PC for that little money. Wifi is resolved with a usb RTL8811AU, so cheap that makes me laugh.

Such a good work with this bad payment !

Hello all,

I have one X96 Max and a A95X F2 ... and one issue with gigabit ethernet

The X96 works fine in a gigabit network with 116MB/s test.

The A95X F2 with the same DTB (meson-g12a-x96-max.dtb) does not recognize the network device (only loopback and wifi)

with the special DTB (A95X F2 с SoC Amlogic S905X2-MT7668RSN.dtb) of this thread (thanks Balbes150) everything runs ok but the ethernet is 100 mbps

It's there a DTB with gigabit ethernet for the A95X?

best regards
