Hi, my company have commissioned at an external company ti develop a device based on rk3399. The external company have returned a device with a Debian 10 Linux image for the device.
We are not satisfied about its the Debian distro maded by the external company because the UI it is not perfect. Sometimes, by moving forms, a little part of the display is not repainted correctly or sometimes a portion of a form disappear.
So the question is: wich is the right way to build a Debian distro ourself?
I have tryed ubuntu fiendlyarm. The os starts, I can enter by ssh but nothing appear on the display so, wich is the righ way to manage the hardware configuration of a custom device based on rk3399?

You can use Armbian build script. In your case, you would only need the device tree for your custom device. Either ask the other company for the .dts, or if that is not possible you can decompile the .dtb from the OS they gave you

Your issue report is not a valid bug report per the Armbian bug reporting instructions (https://www.armbian.com/bugs).  With limited resources the Armbian project is only able to spend time on issues where all the requested information has been provided and for only the boards/images/software that are supported.  Your report is invalid for one or more of the following reasons (non-exhaustive list):

  • it is for an unsupported board or image (CSC/EOS/WIP/edge)
  • it is for software that is not supported (such as userspace modules installed on top of the core operating system)
  • it has been logged in the wrong forum (for example requests for help that are not actual bug reports)
  • it lacks requested data (armbianmonitor output)
  • it could have been easily solved by a quick search and/or reading documentation

Please review what you have submitted and the bug logging instructions (https://www.armbian.com/bugs) and either add the required information or open a new topic in the correct forum (such as Common issues / peer to peer technical support or General chit chat)

IMHO the right option is to buy technical support for your model from Armbian. You will get a ready-made, normally working system and a constant update of your devices, taking into account security and new packages. As a bonus, you will get a wide selection of different Debian\Ubuntu systems with a desktop or server versions.
