I notice the eth0 interface was wrongly set up to 100Mbp/s I used ethtool to set it up correctly pi@Liberty:~$ sudo ethtool eth0 | grep -i speed Speed: 100Mb/s sudo ethtool -s eth0 autoneg on speed 1000 duplex full pi@Liberty:~$ sudo ethtool eth0 | grep -i speed Speed: 1000Mb/s Now I thought the sftp limitation of 1Mb/s was over, it is not.
