NanoPi Neo with Armbian 5.27 Xenial: No serial connection?

Don't quite know what to expect here. The download page implies that there should be a gadget serial connection but there is nothing. I don't even see the USB DRC getting registered. Is this a known issue and is there a solution?

The download page info is for the legacy kernel based images.

You can check the "malinining effort" status for OTG support and compare it to your kernel version. It may work, but it most likely wasn't activated and tested on all boards.
