It hasn't crashed X or anything, probably why I didn't note it before, I decided to spit out the dmesg after a night of running to see if I got more cpufreq errors.  It would seem that the errors are occurring at boot time, but not thereafter, frequency scaling is working fine.

Working on the C2 and K2 to add software spi to the typical SPI0 position on the RPI-compatible header, should this also be done with Le Potato?  I personally don't see why not, as long as no one happens to have dedicated a lot of time and resources to using specifically those pins for non-spi activities...

I'm not in the lab at the moment, maybe later this week.  Trying to get some outdoor projects finished before the snow starts to fall...

[edit]  OK, now that I've updated the patchset that error does not exist.

"It would appear the "Linux hates HDMI--->DVI" situation is back.  My typical testing monitor with DVI does not work at all and my proper hdmi one works perfectly."

It is not HDMI-DVI connection fault. HDMI also but long time. Now iam trying new kernel 4.19. 4.14 boot long. maybe this help something

I thinks its depend on software i have installed. Fresh armbian 5.67 bionic kernel 4.19 installation boot quickly.

How fresh?  Today's build should include some fixes that greatly improved (but didn't completely solve) the issue.

How fresh.? I have downloaded armbian 5.67 kernel 4.19 from download page dated 07.12.19 build. I blocked upgrade kernel, did upgrade and reboot ( still quick boot, install DE, reboot - still quick reboot. And then installed libreoffice firefox thunderbird xfce4-goodies, hardinfo synaptic, caja mate-system-monitor engrampa and reboot AND FINALLY BOOT TOOK 8 minutes

I did it today 2 hours ego. I MEAN UBUNTU BIONIC IMAGE DEBIAN STRETCH WORKS !!

Calm down, there's no need for yelling.  Given the images from yesterday didn't work with displays, I had a valid question for you.  You should also see a marked improvement in wired networking, there was an IRQ bug.

(i did his on a lepotato with a 64gb sandisk extreme a2 u3)and was on wifi and bluetooth with armbian config so i had a few questions and if someone is willing and had the time to check it out i dont know what i did exactly and i know this isn't a support use case but anyways i wanted newer packeges then whats in debian stable and ubuntu and me fight alot lol debian testing is pretty stable right now so i updated the sources.list to buster and i did NOT change the armbian repository , then i did the usual sudo apt update , -dist upgrade, that updated 380 packeges it asked me wither or not to (Y) use new mainterners version or (N) for current i proceded to use (Y) for each one it then asked me to use maintainers, use current or to combined 3, so i chose (Y) For i dont know what im doing lol i noticed the boot takes about 5 times normal but counted to configure lxqt then played in plasma desktop and im trying to learn and is currently using i3wm using lightdm autologin greeter all the 3 desktops worked better then expected using minimal configurations i  didnt got anyboot errors that i can find but i am noob i didnt know if i did anything wrong when it was asking what to use and i didnt know if there were any optimization tricks for video playback or simple 2d n 3d games

Interesting post, 4.20 is not supported, and I have a potato that I boot up periodically without issue, so perhaps this has to do with some additional hardware you have attached.

You've been around long enough to know you need to provide an armbianmonitor -u link.

On your www page board is marked as supported

The board certainly is, but the 4.20 kernel is not.

This bug does not depend on kernel

I have tested images now with my board, no issues seen.  I really don't know what could be causing this error on your side, however it does not appear to be kernel related, perhaps hardware or some attached device/user software config.

My Potato is up, with the latest Armbian Stretch desktop.  Thanks to all involved - VERY nice.

I don't push it very hard - just an initial install, configuration (armbian-config), update, and mostly back to just keyboard and mouse and shell.  You guys made this so easy..

Some minor issues, but that's part of the fun.   I might see if I can slim the whole thing down using latest Busybox, which built perfectly first time out of the gate.  Not an expert at doing a busybox system wide replacement, so don't hold your breath. :)

Basically just a quick hello and thanks to everyone for the project.

I just noticed that my Le Potato board identifies as "Z28 PRO". It is just a cosmetic problem but from a screenshot in this thread I see that it could be a bug... This is welcome message that I see when I connect with ssh client to the Le Potato board:

 _________ ___ ____ ____ ___
|__ /___ \( _ ) | _ \| _ \ / _ \
  / / __) / _ \ | |_) | |_) | | | |

Welcome to Armbian 20.08.7 Focal with Linux 5.8.13-meson64

No end-user support: community creations

I have two LePotato boards. I just found that other one identifies as "Lepotato" and the message about end-user support is missing. I installed Armbian to these boards two weeks ago and I do not remember all details. I assume that I used the same install image for both boards but maybe I used different one (newer?), I am not sure. One of these boards had no HDMI output so I thought it was broken and I was not used it for several days, I used other board for experiments with Android. Once HDMI output was fixed (was it fixed by Android image?? I am not sure how I fixed it...) Once I have found that I do not like Android build (running from microSDHC card), I converted both boards to Armbian. I cannot explain how I installed "Z28 PRO" version to one of my boards but I see it is there... I used one board to experiment with eMMC module during weekend, I tried to run Android from eMMC but that was really not good so I removed eMMC module and I am back at Armbian that runs from microSDHC card. Maybe that Android modified some internal storage memory on LePotato board (in similar way how it fixed broken HDMI), that is the best explanation I have... I installed Android to eMMC module with some Amlogic tool running on Windows (USB A-A cable is connected to LePotato board with eMMC module). I tried Android 6.x and 7.x, version 6.x was working but it was slow and not reliable (some problem with video driver or eMMC driver??), version 7.x was not working at all...

This is what I see on LePotato board that runs Armbian for two weeks (no experiments with Android on eMMC module):

 _ _ _

Welcome to Armbian 20.08.7 Focal with Linux 5.8.13-meson64

I am sorry, I put wrong information about Android versions in the previous post. I cannot fix that because I cannot edit that post anymore. I do not like this feature of this forum, I cannot fix my mistakes when I do not find those in just few minutes.... :-(

So, Android 7.x (Nougat) running from eMMC module was working but had some serious problem with video driver or eMMC driver (whenever I moved mouse, screen lost synchronization and image was black for few seconds). Android 8.x (Oreo)  was not working from eMMC module at all (just blank screen). I have 8GB eMMC module from Libre Computer (because no other eMMC module is compatible with Libre Computer board; I write this note because I was not aware about this fact and I hoped I could use eMMC module for Odroid boards (ODROID C2) but these have different connectors...).

I retested Android on eMMC, Nougat and Oreo and I cannot find any evidence that they modified firmware on Le Potato board. Application AIDA64 on Android reports that board is LePotato, no trace about Z28 PRO. I used better power supply today and I do not have problems with Android on eMMC, so the problems I had the last time and those looked like a problem with video driver were caused by weak power supply; Android Nougat runs from eMMC module in similar way like it runs from good microSDHC. I was able to test even Android Oreo but it has problem to exit application and return to home screen, I cannot do that with mouse. That is problem of user interface; I do not like that build...

I tried to install fresh Armbian to LePotato board and it identifies as LePotato. I think that "Z28 PRO" id was a problem of Armbian, I probbably used different installation image file. Information about "Z28 PRO" is stored in several files in /etc directory, like /etc/armbian.txt

Is anyone noticed that screen sometimes turns black for a second or two, at least on Gnome Shell Wayland session? With Dell UP3017 display (2560x1600) on Linux 5.10 I seen this issue frequently. After upgrade to 5.11 and changing screen resolution to 1920x1200 it's happens rarely, but still happens.

Actually, I seen this issues even with ODROID C4 and N2+ (originally reported on Hardkernel forum).

Xorg does not start on both of buster and focal xfce images. I didn't investigated this further because it was easier to install vanilla-gnome-desktop and vanilla-gnome-default-settings on focal image.

Ethernet cable detection issue (that is discussed here) is still reproducible with uboot 2021.04, as it was with uboot 2020.10 (same workaround still applies).

Another problem I noticed is not working HDMI Audio (unless I missing something). Yes, I tried to tinker around alsamixer and codec's i2s/pcm/spdif options, as well as boost levels, but this doesn't change anything. Is anyone got HDMI audio working on this board with Armbian images?

Tried this workaround but it does not help. Any other ideas?
