OPI ZERO with MainLine + 3,2" TFT Touchscreen

Eclipse

Recommended Posts

First of all, hello to everyone.

I'm new to this forum so sorry if my question may look stupid, but i've strolled through the internet far and wide.

I cannot find simple(for dummies version) step by step tutorial how to connect TFT waveshare knock-off with XPT2046 controller. Compatible with ADS7846 according to this thread:

https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=143581

I was able, using info from link below to run command line on legacy kernel.

https://kaspars.net/blog/linux/spi-display-orange-pi-zero

So i know about reverse SPI connection in orange pi zero.

When i tried command: sudo modprobe fbtft_device custom name=fb_ili9340 gpios=dc:3,reset:0 speed=16000000 busnum=1 rotate=90

I get error: modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'fbtft_device': Invalid argument

I also tried numerous different

Which from what i found is very misleading, because it can mean that the module fbtft_device is absent.

I found out that you cannot run both screen and touch on legacy due to chip select problems, info from topic below:

Unfortunately this instruction uses fbtft_device module which seems to absent/wrongly configured by me.

I tried to gather pieces of information from different sources, but i lack "bigger picture" knowledge in this topic. I made the same touchscreen work with raspberry B+ and i was successful in less than 24h. Please do tell me if it can be done and if so how. I've spend on this issue so much time and it got me nowhere...

Humbly asking for help.
