Orangepinoob
I'm using an Orange pi zero H2 and currently have the pi configured as an access point. I want to be able to SSH into pi using access point wifi, then switch pi onto my home wifi network. When I use the "nmtui" utility I no longer see any available wifi networks. Is it possible to see available wifi networks when I am using the pi as an access point? Thanks, orangepi noob
martinayotte
I doubt any version of XR819 allows STA+AP at the same time ...
Orangepinoob
Help me out with terms... XR819? STA? Thanks
martinayotte
XR819 is the WiFi chip used on OPiZeroH2+. Most Armbian hate that chip since it provide poor performance, and driver is a bit crappy. STA means STATION and AP means AccessPoint. So, if you wish to have both at the same time, I doubt the driver and/or chip support both mode at the same time ... What you can do is attach a second WiFi thru USB.

Orangepinoob
Do you know if other models of OPi have more robust wifi chips that do support STA+AP at the same time? Do you know if raspi's support it? Thanks again
martinayotte
Personnally, I don't know which ones since I've never use such configuration. But you can leave the internal XR819 as AP while adding an USB WiFi dongle for the STA, you will then get both wlan0 and wlan1.
