sfx2000 Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 Bump your cost limit up to 1000/1200 and you have a lot of great choices for something that'll get you by for more than a year or so, and perhaps also more robust construction... Dell Latitude, HP Probook, Lenovo Thinkpad are good choices - even the entry level Macbook Pro (non-touchbar) - go with a business class laptop, and they'll last long after they're obsolete... These days = Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD is pretty much the minimum. Don't forget about offerings from Asus, Acer, and MSI - some can be quite good - just watch out for the gamer oriented ones, sometimes a decent value, sometimes not...
