guidol
which voice and speed parameters do you use? I cant find a difference - on my OPi Zero - in the sound to my other systems for the default voice I do use. I do use a little speak.sh script to get around the on/off of the amplifier: # put text into file echo $* > /tmp/speak_this.txt # generate short empty wav-file espeak-ng "" -w /tmp/empty.wav -s145 # generate wav file for the text - speed 145 voice english espeak-ng -f /tmp/speak_this.txt -w /tmp/espeak.wav -s145 -ven # play the short empty file to activate the amplifier aplay -D plughw:0,0 /tmp/empty.wav 2>/dev/null # wait 2 seconds sleep 2 # play the text wave file aplay -D plughw:0,0 /tmp/espeak.wav 2>/dev/null # cleanup rm /tmp/espeak.wav rm /tmp/speak_this.txt
