Within the next few weeks or months a new Banana Pi model called BPI-R2 will be available. The average buyer of this board thinks of the R2 being an upgrade of BPi-R1 (also known as Lamobo R1) and will also think that software support situation will be the same (trusting in Armbian, Bananian and OpenWRT here). R2 is NOT an upgrade, it's just an entirely different device using an MediaTek MT7623N SoC instead of an Allwinner chip as all the other boards of this vendor.   What do we know
