@chewitt - i think to remember, that the s905 has a very dos partition table unfriendly boot layout ... two options come into my mind: you might use gpt partitioning and ignore the primary partition table (gpt has a backup at the end of the disk) - this way it works well to run linux on my veyron chromebook, which is trashing the primary partition table over and over again - you'll need the gpt kernel cmdline option for the kernel to be happy with the backup partition table only ... the other op
