never mind, I've actually seen @pista configuration in OP, so the information I asked was already in plain sight! apologies for asking without even looking carefully first. Apparently, my minix U1 boots only using an SD card, it really doesn't like USB. Everything seems to work OKish from SD.

I know this is an old post, but I noticed that @pista has the same box I’m trying to run. I really like the minix neo U1, because the board itself has already soldered jtag and other pins, and everything seems to be properly labeled (it’s not granted that manufacturers write which port is what!) I’m trying to boot this box with a recent version of uboot and linux, but it seems Impossible 😫. @pista, if you are still around, could you please write which version of u-boot/kernel/armbian is working for you? thanks already!
