    Thanks for this. Using xrandr I was able to rotate the display, and then updated my xorg.conf to set it permanently.

  2. I am in the middle of porting a proof of concept app from Raspberry Pi/Raspbian to its (hopefully) permanent home on Orange Pi PC/Armbian, and I am really loving the new environment. Now I need to get my non-standard HDMI display working.

     

    It's a 800x800 circular display from China that works fine on my Raspberry Pi once I figured out what the HDMI timings were (they weren't even on the data sheet!). As I learned when configuring the RPi the display does not report its resolution correctly, so it won't work out of the box, but in Raspbian you have the option to force the system to use your custom configuration defined in the config.txt file.

     

    I have looked at https://docs.armbian.com/Hardware_Allwinner/#how-to-reconfigure-video-output but I'm not seeing how to add the custom HDMI timings. I'm not sure how it could possibly work without it. Is there a series of steps I can take to force Armbian to look at my custom-defined display rules?

    I am having the same problem with Buster, it seems like it should be a straightforward thing to do, I just can't find any documentation or examples.

Hi all, I am building an art project, and I love the hardware specs of Orange Pi PC for it. I have a graphical Java app (built in Processing) that runs on a HDMI display, and unsurprisingly it doesn't run well without a GPU. On RPi 3B+/Diet Pi I've got it up around 24 fps using KMS, and I'm happy with that performance, but now I'm porting it to the OPi so I'm kinda starting from scratch again. I am aware of the amazing work going on with Panfrost although I've had issues installing it on my board with Buster Desktop.

     

    In general Armbian on Orange Pi PC seems pretty great, amazing even. But I'm only getting about 1 frame every 5 seconds with my Java/Processing app and X11, while glxgears will pull around 150 fps.

     

    I'm hoping that someone can recommend some tools (other Armbian builds? Mali drivers? different display manager?) that I might try. I 100% want to continue using Armbian, but I'm only about a week or two into using it so I'm just not super piped into the history and all available tools. Below I've pasted some OpenGL info from my current environment for context.

  5. Where is everyone finding these release candidate builds? 

     

    Admittedly I'm a little new here, but I arrived at this thread and realized it's probably exactly what I need for my application. Just having some trouble finding these RCs to tryout Panfrost. Happy to report issues back to the thread.
