  1. You can enable and configure cec in Settings - System - Input - Peripherals. And you must enable cec on the device you want to control, in my case the 5.1 system. The name in device menu depends on manufacturer. My Onkyo has HDMI Control. Aquos link on old Sharp. Anynet+ for Samsung I can control volume with + and - keys
  2. I installed armbian with a vendor kernel 6.1.75-vendor-rk35xx. I want to be sure the kernel is not updated. I used armbian-config and selected "SY203 - Disable Armbian kernel upgrades" Disable Armbian kernel/firmware upgrades Would you like to continue? after selecting "Yes", the menu shows "SY202 - Enable Armbian firmware upgrades" so I check with apt-mark showhold and it returned only "armbian-firmware" Do I have to put my kernel packages on hold? linux-dtb-vendor-rk35xx linux-headers-vendor-rk35xx linux-image-vendor-rk35xx I find misleading the change in the description from SY203 to SY202: kernel -> firmware
  3. Thank Werner. I will go for Raspi PSU. In effect, sometimes, after I/O failure I experienced continuously reboots: I thought they were due to the errors but probably was the power supply
  4. You're right eselarm The working PSU 90W has a max of 3A on 5V. The PSU I bought with OPi is a 4A but NVMe has errors. Probably the first is of better quality, it is from a Dell. Maybe the original Raspberry 5 PSU is the choice, it is rated for 5.1V@5A
  5. The original PSU deliver only 5V. How can I tell if OP5+ use 5V or more? Is there some config in armbian? Update http://www.orangepi.org/orangepiwiki/index.php/Orange_Pi_5_Plus#Instructions_for_using_the_5v_pin_in_the_40pin_interface_of_the_development_board_to_supply_power So I think the board works only with 5V - USB-C - Max 5A no PD I will search for a power supply with 25W or above in 5V output
  6. Hi. I have the official raspberry TV hat https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/accessories/tv-hat.html I'm wondering if I can use it on the Orange Pi. https://pinout.xyz/pinout/tv_hat http://www.orangepi.org/orangepiwiki/images/a/ac/Plus5-img302.png
  7. I had problems with a NVMe drive from SAMSUNG (128GB) when usign the original power supply and high I/O operations (apt install). I tested with a 90W power supply from a laptop and doesn't have any issue. I think it is the combination from high I/O and power usage of the board, in my case downloading packages from network and, maybe, the hdmi output+usb keyboard dongle. I will go for a new power supply (65W) "laptop type", not for phone, just to be sure.
  8. Hi Werner. Using the kernel in your image I have a problem with Hardware rendering: I can select DRM Prime but when I play h264 videos I got artifacts and the player doesn't go in foreground. So Andrey, did you use the image provided by Werner? with HDMI audio 5.1 from Kodi?
  9. ok. My first working kodi configuration is with Armbian_24.8.1_Orangepi5-plus_noble_vendor_6.1.75_gnome-kisak_desktop any kernel above have a problem with HW rendering or audio output (alsa doesn't show hdmi output). I managed to have a working HDMI CEC in kodi upgrading the package to libcec6_6.0.2-5_arm64 downloaded from bookworm. Currently I'm happy with kodi but I have no audio from normal desktop, will give a try disabling pulseaudio.
  10. Hi Tony3. Could you please give me a link of the image? My other attempt was with kernel 6.12, video is accelerated but I am missing hdmi0 audio output. Gave a try to collab kernel -board freeze- and edge, same with current thank you
  11. thanks guys I am trying Armbian_24.11.2_Orangepi5-plus_noble_vendor_6.1.75_kde-neon-kisak_desktop kde is running with wayland glmark2 is using panfrost driver kodi worked with HW accell after installing mesa vulkan driver and enabling DRM Prime I must run kodi with KODI_AE_SINK=ALSA kodi otherwise I don't have hdmi0 output. And kodi is running from kde with "-fs" flag With alsamixer I changed the channel PATHs because channels are incorrent, my setup for 5.1 is PATH2-PATH0-PATH1 (I think PATH3 is not used, maybe it's for 7.1) Now I am missing CEC connection. Maybe I can try with another kernel or some overlay? How can I change only the kernel? maybe with the suggested 6.1.84?
  12. There are so many images https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-5-plus/ Which one? kernel 6.1 or kernel 6.12? No one is using OPI for kodi? Not looking for a oob solution but a step by step guide will be useful
  13. I have a new Orange Pi 5 plus 16GB. Seems a pretty cool board and I want to replace my old Rpi 4 for Media center and Home assistant. I tried several distribution but can't get all my stuff working. The OPI5+ is attached to an onkio 5.1 receiver and the receiver go to a FHD TV. What is want to achieve is in Kodi 1. play video with GPU 2. libCec in Kodi to control Onkio volume 3. Passthrough audio Is there a working solution? Thank you
