Edit: I forgot i.MX6 (Cortex-A9). Given how 'popular' these boards are these days the most easy 'solution' would also be to phase support out.

I've got three Cuboxes around the house running on Armbian quite happily – it would be sad to see support 'phased out'.

  2. Hi there,

Just loaded Armbian Vanilla Jessie (5.00, 4.4.1 kernel) on one of my Cuboxes. There's no sound from SPDIF, even though it's seen:

    root@cubox-i:~# aplay -l

**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
    card 0: SPDIF [integrated SPDIF], device 0: S/PDIF PCM snd-soc-dummy-dai-0 []
      Subdevices: 1/1
      Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

    Speaker-test shows no errors:

    root@cubox-i:~# speaker-test -r 44100 -F S16_LE -c 2 -D hw:0,0

    speaker-test 1.0.28

    Playback device is hw:0,0
    Stream parameters are 44100Hz, S16_LE, 2 channels
Using 16 octaves of pink noise
Rate set to 44100Hz (requested 44100Hz)
Buffer size range from 64 to 16384
Period size range from 32 to 8192
    Using max buffer size 16384
    Periods = 4
    was set period_size = 4096
    was set buffer_size = 16384
     0 - Front Left
     1 - Front Right
    Time per period = 5.607037
     0 - Front Left
     1 - Front Right

It all appears to work – except for the actual sound coming out. Tried with 2 different Cuboxes. Armbian Legacy (3.14.60) outputs sound OK.

    Any ideas?
  3. Got to love how any question I have is already answered – and most concisely so.

Running a very happy Cubox homeserver now (LEMP, ProFTPd, Samba, Owncloud, Rsync). Thank you for maintaining Armbian while entertaining user questions at the same time – I made a small donation today.
