In a Opi Iot 2G I have used 64gb usb flash disk mounted from a armbian that i installed at 512mb flash rom.

The kernel is 3.10.62, I have modified it so that it does not rotate the MAC, I do not see a larger version of the kernel necessary although it seems that it has been incorporated into version 5 in development:
    https://github.com/torvalds/linux/tree/master/arch/arm/mach-rda

Actually I have created several images with buildroot, it is simple, I have shared the code ready to make the image in my github:
    https://github.com/txurtxil/broot2g
The merit is from a 4pda user (Yoshee) has done an in-depth job to program tft screens from the kernel. I have never seen it work so well at the same time oled screen + sensor dht22 and switches and with the image that has left yoshee all the good and very fine, I leave it here (root / 1)

In /etc/iot.conf we can configure bot telegram, mqtt, etc ... it's a great job.

    Hmmm... trying that image.

How do you get wlan0 up and wifi working?

    Thank you.

I have been able to recompile the kernel using sources provided by orangepi-xunlong. I have the camera detected and working now.

    Arinze,

Nice - can you share bit more detail how you get that working?

    Thanks!

  5. Hi,

    need some help here.

    I'm running an orangepiwin:

    root@orangepiwin:~# uname -a
    Linux orangepiwin 3.10.107-pine64 #11 SMP PREEMPT Sun Feb 11 19:22:44 CET 2018 aarch64 aarch64 aarch64 GNU/Linux

I try to use it for my 3d printers, by using a thing like octoprint or repetier server. I woud prefer repetier as due to its smaller footprint.

I have issues to etsablish usb communication - it works fine on raspbrian on an rasppi3, so I guess the printer(s) are fine. I think this is related to the USB communication, I can see that the printer is detected.

    root@orangepiwin:~# ls -la /dev/ttyU*
    crw-rw---- 1 root dialout 188, 0 Aug  6 07:32 /dev/ttyUSB0

I can also connect from repetier server and can see the output of the console about marlin fw. However I can not move the axis in any direction or home the printer with G28. Seems I can not talk to the printer from armbian.

    I also tried this:

    usermod -a -G dialout repetierserver

    No effect - I uploaded armbianmonitor -u here http://ix.io/1jiP

Somebody have any idea what I can try next?

    Thanks!

    Regards

    Joerg

  6. Hi,

1st - thanks for your wonderful job. I really like using Armbian.

I have setup a few small nanopi neo's with spotify / airplay / Bluetooth to play music via Echo-Dots with line in connected speakers.

Now I would like to make this setup as stable as it can be., so I was thinking about making those SD cards read only.

What I got from here - on the old kernel 3.4 there is an option - apt-get install overlayroot.

Sadly I'm on the latest Debain based image -

    fritz@nanopineo2:~$ uname -a
    Linux nanopineo2 4.14.18-sunxi #24 SMP Fri Feb 9 16:24:32 CET 2018 armv7l GNU/Linux

unionfs-fuse is maybe a good option. Before I try that out myself - anybody had done this?

Any guide I can use / follow?

    Regards

    Joerg
