Scanning wifi networks when configured as Access Point (OPi Zero)

Hi,

 

I have an Orange Pi Zero configured as a Wireless Access Point (via armbian-config) and it works great. However, I want to be able to scan for wireless networks whilst configured as an AP.

 

If I try scan, I get the following error:

wlan0     Interface doesn't support scanning : Operation not supported

Just wondering if this is a shortcoming of the driver or the XR819?
