Language problem

Just installed Armbian on a Rock Pi4 to run OMV as a nas.  I have a desktop installed.  Install went OK but I have a weird problem, the menu has a different language for some items.  Items in the main menu that have sub-groups have the other language, not sure what it is, possibly Cyrillic, but the sub-groups are in English.  So, for instance, under accessorioes, accessories is not english but everything in its pop-up menu is.  I've set the locale and language to GB, I'm in the UK but the menu doesn';t change.
