Le Potato Hardware Acceleration

Sorry if I ask, but I  can't seem to find an actual definitive answer anywhere about this.

Is there at the moment or will be in the future a way to have an hardware accelerated MATE desktop using armbian on le potato?

And if there is/will be,  what limitations does/would it have? (opengl/window compositing/video decoding/video encoding...)
