[SOLVED] Issue with /etc/crypttab on armbian 9 stretch - Banana Pi

I have a encrypted external hard drive connected via USB. I want to be able to automatically  access it after boot so I made a keyfile that I put in /etc/crypttab.

After updating the crypttab file I ran update-initramfs -u.

But after reboot the drive is still locked. Why is this?

I suspect it might be because of the order of things at boot. Maybe crypttab is called before the USB device is initialized?

Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I had a incorrect crypttab that's why it didn't mount. It works now thanks!
