  2. Would it be of value for to alter the config screens such that they sate something like this? Network Wireless Hotspot Select the radio to use for your Hotspot Select interface that is connected to the Internet I keep getting thrown off by current dialogs which display the "Select Default Interface" twice
  3. When I used the Debian image, it looks like the wireless-regdb's were not in the correct location. Using this guide I was able to get CRDA to work. wireless-regdb: Missing support for kernel direct loading Did I miss something in the initial setup?

  5. Are the rtl8814au drivers updated? I did a custom build and the custom drivers seem to get 25% more throughput. Open armbian-config Select Network At "Select default interface" Select the radio you want to use as the Hotspot Select Hotspot Go through the steps When prompted again for "Select default interface", select the same radio originally selected as the hotspot. Did I get that right?
  7. I'm trying to emulate a scenario where one radio is connected to a hotel WiFi. Then the 2nd radio acts as a NAT'ed hotpot for personal use. When I travel or stay with friends or family, I'd like to just update the Network manager file or supplicant to attach to the host network. Then all my other devices could hook up to the hotspot so I don't have to change settings on my phone, laptops, etc. I have this working with a Raspberry Pi 3B, but am trying to emulate using an ESPRESSObin, so I can get the higher throughput. I put together this guide for myself to make it "easier" with the RPi. I struggle using the armbian-config tool, as I ma getting confused by the request for "Default" interface twice. Assuming I have two separate radios, one if hooked up to a host network, and there is a 2nd free radio. What are the intended steps for using the 2nd radio as a hotspot?
  8. I'm struggling to use the armbian-config tool to setup a hotspot when I have two radios. Can someone share with me the intended workflow/step using armbian-config? I get asked twice for Default interface and the 2nd dialog is throwing me off. My board and radios work fine, but my network is suffering from insufficient user IQ. :-(
  9. Yes, I now have it setup this way . 88w8897 (supplicant) => 8814AU (hostspot/ap)
  10. The Marvell 88W8897 works fine with OpenWrt as an access point. I'd use OpenWrt, but OpenWrt doesn't have support yet for the rtl8814au usb wifi cards. I'm trying to set up a wireless repeater: rtl8814au (edimax) as supplicant => 88W8897 (hostapd) I'll try the other way around. I have had success switching the interfaces, but the rtl8814au seems to have some rate limiting as an access point.
  11. Has anyone had success getting the Marvell 88W8897 setup as a hotspot? It seems to work fine as a Supplicant, but I'm having challenges getting it to work as a hotspot. I've been trying to get the card to work as a hotspot via armbian-config without success. Does anyone have any suggestions?
