forgot about -o (options) i.e. sudo mount –t cifs //share /mnt/some_folder -o username=usernameonwindowsmachine,password=passwordforwindowsmachine try this one: https://linhost.info/2012/05/mount-a-network-share-in-linux-ubuntu/

mount –t cifs //share /mnt/some_folder username=usernameonwindowsmachine,password=passwordforwindowsmachine
